We weren't sure what to expect at Eleven Mile State Park but we were surprised to see how great it was. We took kayaks and paddled towards the east end of the reservoir around the rocks and trees. There are some great campsites out there you can hike to if you're camping light. Our site was close to the water and easy to back a 30' travel trailer into. It was close to level and we had plenty of room. There was plenty of sunshine to for our solar panels and I was able to run the fridge off AC power all day while making waffles and using our microwave. Our daughters would climb the rocks around the site and bring water up from the reservoir to make a mess in the dirt. There was also a nice playground for kids to play at while you dump your RV.
There are a couple of negatives though. The dump station is locked when the visitor center is closed so make sure you use it between 8am-3pm. The water was hard to find at first but it you pull around to the west side of the visitor center (38.935701468588725, -105.5010864115045) there is water and there is a spigot in the parking lot right by the playground which makes filling much easier if you have kids. We got in around 7pm on a Friday so there was no one there to ask.
There were a few trailers who ran generators a lot, I have no idea why they need that much power but one ran a generator all night. We have Visible (Verizon) and T-Mobile and never had service. Our phones never had anything and my LTE router with a directional antenna could pick up T-Mobile but it wasn't usable. It wasn't until we made it back towards Lake George that we saw service again.
Generally there is a lot of availability here and I would love to come back. The Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument make for a great hike to see massive petrified Redwood trees. There are so many things to explore in the area that I would love to go back.

Beautiful site right off water. Beware of gusty winds in afternoon- ripped our awning off. Very desolate and no stores of any kind around. Very hit or miss verizon cell service.

Stayed here Sun - Thurs after the 4th of July. Need reservations before you arrive. Ranger station has limited hours to register. Online booking easy. Keep in mind that the $18 listed by others is only the camping fee. You also need to have a Colorado State Park Pass for every vehicle (including our toad) for each day you are camping. With tax that is closer to $45 per day. Lots of open sites to choose from midweek. Lake is great for kayaking and fishing. Beautiful views and sunsets. Totally unshaded but temperatures are perfect in July. And solar works great. BUT every day around 3 PM the wind blows off the lake. It is very unpredictable and very strong at times. Can make being outside tough at times. And be careful with your awning! Still, great relaxing place.
Cell service was crazy. First two days all that worked on Verizon was voice. Couldn’t text or email and forget internet. Suddenly the 3rd day we were streaming YouTube. Can’t explain it.

This place is packed on the weekends. You need to book early during the summer. Site 210 is really the best site. It's far from the marina with plenty of space from other sites. NOTE: This campground is dry. There's water close by and a dump station though.

We arrived (without a reservation) early afternoon on the 24th. Instead of driving all over checking which sites were reserved and which were free, we went directly to the visitors center to ask the "experts" which site would be best for us. We told the lady at the counter we wanted a nice quiet area. She picked out site number 226. We paid the fee and then went off to settle in. As it turns out, 226 is adjacent to the marina. Not at all quiet as the Marina was busy during the day. We found another site that would work much better and since the site tag said it was available, we went back tot he visitors center to see if we could change sites. They said they would, but they needed an additional $6 for a "computer" fee. In our opinion, that was not acceptable. Charging an additional $6 to press a few buttons and to otherwise make the customer happy in this day and age is a rip-off, especially since they were the ones who ill-advised us about the initial site.
After we finished settling into our "quiet" site (226), I went to use the bathroom. It was definitely in need of pumping. I've never seen a vault toilet so full in all my life. And to top it off, it was filthy.
At night, the marina building has lighting which illuminates the parking lot which was in our line of site. So if your tent camping in that area, the light might be of concern.
I gave this campground a 3-star rating. I took off one star for their inexcusable lack of cleanliness of the vault toilet and I took another star for their lack of customer service.

We made reservations for a spot near the water and although the site wasn’t completely leveled, the view was phenomenal. Unfortunately we left the next morning instead of staying for the 2 reserved nights due to the insanely number of bugs. It was literally impossible to stay outside.
