Question about North Pole Road Dispersed Camping

Chuck.N asked on 9/21/2021

Are the directions given here entering from Hwy 16? We're hoping to go there today, and I'm not sure what entry to use to access North Pole Road Dispersed Camping. Thanks!

Yes, that was from 16. It's narrow in some spots and the last charge up the hill was a little unsettling at first, but it's all good. Have a great stay and be sure to visit Custer State Park. Never seen so many buffaloes up close.

I have come in from both directions. 16 is the shortest amount of dirt road. However you can come in or leave by way of 385 by Crazy Hourse if you want.

We came in off of 16…. Turning north on North Pole road. It was about 2 miles up and there are several great spots to camp.

I came in off Hwy 16 so yes, I can't recall the FDR # I think it's 274 or 294.
