In my previous review I forgot to mention that a WA state Discovery Pass is required for the campground. You have to buy it at a vender. We got ours at Princes in Oroville. If you are going to be visiting WA state facilities, it is totally worth the $30 since many of the parks are then free to camp!

“Solitude with a noisy creek”

The road in was paved but had many potholes and was steep enough that we overheated our transmission, but it was worth it. The campground had about a dozen partially shaded sites and the whole time we were there, there was never more that 2 other sites in use. Most sites could only accommodate rigs less than 30’ but number 10 could handle a big rig if you can get through the awkward entrance cattle guard. About half were pull throughs. Other wise there is a very large site just outside the campground to the left of the cattle guard. We highly recommend parking at the cattle guard or the vault toilet and scoping out the sites to pick one that suits you best. The creek is noisy, so if you like silence, this is not your campground. But if you enjoy the giggles and shouts of water tumbling over rocks, you will love it.
The vault toilet was well stocked, but only moderately clean. There were a number of hiking possibilities including the short but strenuous hike on the Vista Foot Trail. Fire wood was abundant and the new fire pit and grill got quite a workout cooking our suppers. The creek had a plentiful supply of brook trout but a little too small for us to bother catching them.
The road on passed the campground was actually in much better condition and led to several other trailheads and creek fishing sites.
This was about 12 miles from Loomis, but you need to get to Tonasket or Oroville for supplies. Each of those are about 30 miles but 45-60 minutes away so stock up before you go. Enjoy!
