Getting to the campgrounds was fairly easy. The road into the campgrounds was a bit winding but nothing extreme and had great views along the way. The campgrounds itself is a one way loop with some pull through and mostly back in sites.
We started at site 7 which was a steep back-in site (there are several like this). It was rough to get up due to soft soil and an old RV. It would’ve taken lots of blocks to get level so we slept smooshed together all night (which wasn’t a huge deal). The next day we asked the camp hosts if we could switch to site 10, which was a much easier back in spot with flat parking spot and gorgeous views. Site 11 (pull through) had amazing views as well.
The bathrooms are clean and well-maintained and surprisingly didn’t smell bad.
There are multiple water faucets around the campgrounds which are convenient.
Bugs were around but only bothered our dog (she likes to try to catch them). Nothing that bit, just annoying flies. Lots of chipmunks scurrying around, too.
The temperature during the day was in the 80s and chilly in the 40s at night.
The campgrounds had just reduced the burn ban so we were able to have a fire in the ring (they sell firewood at the host site).
Didn’t deal with any loud guests or knuckleheads which made the time there peaceful.
Luckily we had friends with a truck so we drove to 2 different trails to hike within about 20 minutes of the site. We did 4 miles of the Lily Pond trail which was full of wildflowers and had very little traffic. We also did another trail (that I can’t think of the name, ugh) that had tall pines and aspen along a steep hike/horse trail.

Several awesome hikes in the area - we did Skinny Fish one day and had the best wildflowers seen anywhere on this trip.

The campground was about 10 miles past where google maps said it was. Just an FYI. We had a pull through campsite, it was hilly but not hard to level our 32’ trailer. Another camper saw a moose. The setting feels very remote. The pass and area was beautiful. We will be returning with our UTV for sure.
