We had a nice pull thru site, campsite was laid out nice, big site wit shade. It was a 5 minute walk to the river (bring you tube and float). It was about a 10 minute walk to the lake. Great little swim area you can wade out to the island. There is a swim beach at both south and north loop but the south loop has no hook up and the day use area is a zoo. We liked the north loop it was quite. The boat ramp is in the south loop which is a 5 minute drive from the north loop.
Near the south loop there’s a restaurant called wild flour it is excellent. Homemade pastas and more. The mushroom appetizer is so good. We went during happy hour great deals on dinner and drinks. By far the best meal we had in months of being on the road.
Leavenworth is a cute town but is packed on weekends, crazy packed. We did grocery at Dans it is a very nice small grocery store. We couldn’t find a place to park so we went to 4 wineries outside of town. Plain winery has great wines, eagle creek winery is in a outdoors setting great wine too.
Beautiful are, had the best neighbors!
The camp host was so nice. He was new but very helpful.

Lake Wenatchee State Park is comprised of two campgrounds: south and north, separated by the Wenatchee River. We stayed in the North campground so this review focuses primarily on this one. We were here the last weekend in June and I believe I reserved the last available site back in March. Many families were staying with kids riding their bikes and scooters around the loops which made us reminisce about when our kids did the same. The sites have varying amounts of privacy; the ones on the outside have more privacy because there is no one behind you. There is an algorithm that determines the price based on the ascertained popularity of the site but honestly, I could not figure out how it worked (we paid $32 for a non-hookup site (I believe the hookup sites are on the outside of the loops). While none of the sites have river or lake views, there are easily accessible paths to get to both. While we came for nearby hiking, there is boating (the launch is located in the south campground, I believe), swimming, and fishing. The bathrooms were clean and had my three necessary amenities: soap, hand dryers, and a garbage can. Showers are available for a fee based on how much time you want. Firewood is available from the host when on duty and the host was very friendly. Even though the campground was full, it was quiet at night save for some people talking. We had a pleasant stay here.

We had a great time at Lake Wenatchee State Park. This was quite the hidden gem tucked in the mountains of Central Washington State. About 2 hours from Seattle, 25 minutes from Leavenworth (a Bavarian-themed mountain town), and right in the middle of the Wenatchee National Forest.
There are two sections of the park: The north entrance and the south entrance. We stayed inside the north entrance which had two loops that had electric and water sites on the outside of the loops and non-utility sites on the inside. All the utility sites were long pull through that were relatively flat and hard packed gravel. We did not go through the south entrance so don’t have anything to review although none of those sites had utility hookups.
The park itself is relatively small with a trail that goes by the shore of the lake. There are two main beach areas and a boat launch available to take boats out on the lake. The lake is very shallow by the shore and I walked out almost 100 feet and still could walk.
We spent an afternoon in the Bavarian-themed town of Leavenworth which was entertaining. The drive there was very nice, driving along the Wenatchee river with gorgeous mountain views. We also took the opportunity to go to the Safeway in town to restock on groceries and supplies.
We only stayed three nights but would definitely stay longer. It is a little more expensive than I would’ve liked at $35 a night for hookup sites. Overall, a great little state park that was quiet, well-kept, and beautiful.

This was our first campground as a full time traveling family. The site was a fairly narrow pull through spot. The spot wasn't very even, so we needed levelers - but worth it because the view was gorgeous. The sites are big here, and there are lots of trees to provide privacy. We had water and electric at our site. The bathhouse did have quite a few bugs inside and you had to pay for the showers (bring your quarters!).
We hiked a lot in the park, skipped rocks on the lake, and went swimming one 80 degree day. We also geocached! The park is in a beautiful part of Washington. We also drove 20 miles into the Bavarian themed town of Leavenworth one day for an outing - a must see community! We had a great start to our full-timing adventure at Lake Wenatchee State Park.

We escaped the late summer heat in Wenatchee proper a couple of years ago by going into the mountains to Lake Wenatchee State Park. It was a pleasant break--the lake is beautiful and the dogs appreciated the walks in a comfortable temperature.
