“Fun to get too in a high clearance 2wd. Beware of yellow jackets.”

I traveled up Barlett Springs road from the south. This road is plenty doable with a 2wd but there are sections where high clearance is recommended. Took me about 45 minutes to make it to the north side of the reservoir. I got there Friday morning and some of the more desirable spots were taken up by what appeared to be long termers.
I found a nice spot in the brush about 100' away from the water but yellow jackets drove me away closer to the water. I thought I read somewhere that there's a minimum distance you're allowed to camp from water but I found a fire ring literally a few feet from the water. I stayed overnight and wasn't bothered at all. The only problem was when people riding dirt bikes along the shore rode their dirt bikes right by my camp site. No biggie, they came and went and didn't pretty quick. The area was lightly littered with shotgun shells, toilet paper, cans, and wrappers. I packed in what I could. Please do your share to keep these lands beautiful and free.
Fishing is so easy even I was able to land 4 big fat dumb carp. They bit all the way into noon. The water is clear enough to see the groups of fish swimming around the lure within 10 minutes of casting. After I see where they're at exactly I cast out with a bobber and reel in the bait to cross their paths and these fish just can't help but bite. It's really the only way my n00b self would've landed any fish haha.
On the way out I took I took Brim Rd which is to the NE of the reservoir. This path was super smooth and went through some beautiful rolling hills and cow pastures. I'm just worried about people taking those blind turns too quick as these roads are not that big and aren't marked with a divider.

“Lovely Area but a little noisy with the Off Road Vehicles..”

This is a very difficult spot to get too. I would not recommend a large trailer without a 4x4. But, that being said, I saw 4x4's pulling toy trailers with motorcycles and 4 wheelers back in this area. I was surprised to see them. The road was very narrow at times and somebody will have to backup if met in the opposite direction.
There are no facilities at this location and the so called boat ramp is all dirt. I can see people getting stuck with a large boat on a trailer. The people that I did see launching boats had them in the bed of their 4x4 trucks. I had a little inflatable 2 person that the puppies and I enjoyed rowing across the lake.
There were several passenger vehicles back here with tents and I did see a small SUV pulling a teardrop trailer drive by looking for a location.
I saw signs about rock slides, downed trees and I did cross a small stream to get here. I was little concerned when it started raining on Sunday afternoon and thought it best to leave before any of those warnings became a problem.
I have Project Fi and had no service at all.
Springflower would stay here again
