this campground does everything right. Beautiful well spaced sites. Great bike trails with easy access to CCRT. We were in self-contained unit and therefore did not use the facilities.

We stayed over Labor Day weekend. This was our first dry camping experience and easily walk to bathrooms and showers. Facilities were kept clean and had many activities for campers.

After some research this seemed to be the best camping option in the area. $40 a night is expensive for dry camping, but for cheap options on the Cape this is the best. The park is huge and has plenty to do right from your campsite. There are miles of hiking/biking trails right in the park and if your more ambitious you can ride your bike to Provincetown at the tip of the Cape, with some mixed trail and road riding. There are a few large ponds in the park as well that allow water activities.
A lot of the sites were not very level, might want to look first before picking one. We took loop 2, site 112 on the rangers suggestion. It had a good view, but not very level. The campground was all but empty in mid October so it was very quite and clean. The showers and bathrooms were decent and there are water spigots scattered around the park. Cell service was pretty good as well and there is a dump here.

We just stayed here for a night as we passed through Cape Cod National Seashore. There were limited options for camping in the area and so this place ended up being the best find. For out of state travelers, however, they significantly charge extra fees that make a routine camping stay a bit more expensive than one would like.
Aside from the grievances with the campsite price, the campground is huge with multiple areas to choose from. We were in area 6x which felt secluded enough and offered quality sites. Bathrooms were relatively clean, and the area was mostly bug free.
Overall a decent stop if you need a place to crash in Cape Cod, but otherwise if you can find cheaper I don't think it was worth the extra price as an out of state traveler.

Don't let this deter you, but come prepared with gear ready to leave at site (containers, etc). Def worth it for proximity to Flax Pond. Literally had our own little trail down to pond...about 15 yards.
There are three sites next to one another...61 is prob the best with most space and level ground. 60 was quite slanted but had level ground for a 3p tent, so was perfect for us.
Pros
- Pond right next door...beautiful!
- clean bathrooms with hot water 2 mins walk away
- free hot showers in area 3 which is a 2 min drive away
- central location on the cape right on the rail trail
- area 1 is close to entrance ...6/6x and 7 are a 15 min drive into park and looked way more densely populated.
Cons
- site was not v level, try for 61
- on weekend a decent amount of traffic going down to pond. 99.9% of people super nice and trying to avoid walking thru your site.
- no car next to your site.
Bring your bikes and canoes/fishing gear!

Nickerson SP was surprisingly large with several bike and walking trails. The weekend filled up and everyone had a bike. There were a few lakes/ponds that were enjoyable when it got hot.
The site we had was uneven and sandy, but large. Made use of our large entrance mat. There were no hookups, and the facilities were clean and hot showers were a short drive/long walk to get to. The area between the spaces, made for quiet weekends when the park filled up.
The location was central, providing for about an hour drive to Provincetown and about 30 minutes to Hyannis. In between, there were a few of the quintessential towns to check out.
This is somewhere to check out.

Our site was a bit uneven and narrow for our 25 ft motor home but we made it work. Larger rvs should not attempt this loop. While we didn't like the site on first impression, it really grew on us. Right next to us was a trail that led directly to the lake, which was lovely.
No hookups but the access to the lake was great. Bathrooms were ok. Also, good bike trails abound. There's a dump station past loops 3 & 4.
Across the street from the park, if you turn on crosby ave, and drive all the way down, is crosby beach. Warmer water and very nice!

This campground offers the best of both worlds. Forest lovers will enjoy the dense trees, paved trails that weave through interesting foliage, and the secluded ponds. Beach lovers will enjoy easy access the miles of public beaches that line the shore of Cape Cod.
We visited in the late fall - the last week they were open for the season in fact - and the campground was only partially full and mostly quiet. Site quality here varies widely, both in quality and size. We stayed in area 6x and after biking around the other loops decided that this was one of the best for RV camping. Generous sized sites and decent separation are hallmarks of this loop. Just be sure to avoid the sites closest to the campground road. Even at this time of year is was busy and noisy.
