Right on the edge of Lake Superior and the beach is sandy, not rocky. We were able to stay on a site next to the lake (these sites didn’t have water or sewer or power but we are self sufficient. Many site do have water and power and there is a dump station on site. Don’t miss out on this campground, it is perfect! Oh, really clean public showers and washroom facility too as well as outhouses throughout the campground.

Even though it was rainy, the site was good. It is a large site so easy to place our Micro Minnie where we wanted to and still have room for our Clam (screen house) and a tent where another family member slept for 2 nights. Very level side to side and easy to adjust the level front to back. The bathrooms were clean, well maintained and the showers were excellent. This campground has a large sand and drift wood beach.

The site was a pull through. Leveling wasn’t difficult. Large site with plenty of space.
Can’t beat the views from here.
The campground has many trails, ability to rent a canoe, very fun hike on a trail that leads to the large rock area on Lake Superior.
Bathrooms are great and well maintained.

Our site was large and had nice privacy - electrical post was about 60 feet away. It was a little dicey getting into the site because of the trees and a bigger rig would have difficulties (site was in over 32 foot category). The pull thrus on the beach would have been easier and have great views but they are wide open and there is no privacy between sites. The facilities were clean.
We took the guided walk that talked about the POW Camp that was located at Neys during WW2. It was really interesting - there are not many actual ruins left to see but the leaders did a good job in explaining what was where, why it was there and some stories about life in the camp.
We did all the hikes - Under the Volcano was my favourite for the rock scrambling and the views. The beach is gorgeous - very sandy and the water was relatively warm.
No wifi but we had good cell service with Rogers.

We booked late so had a non-electric site. Okay since we asked for proximity to boat launch. Easy tandem carry of our sea kayaks onto Pic River and then the lake!
Try to get into campgrounds 1 - 3, and you’ll hear the waves and wind, not the trains😊

Neys PP is about 30 minutes from Marathon where supplies can be purchased. The park roads are a little rough so, take it easy.
The Park has a large beach and a few nice trails. Certainly enough to keep you busy for a couple of days! An interesting aspect of the park is that it was a WW2 POW camp. Information on this can be found at the visitor centre.
Park roads were a little rough and very tight for our 5th wheel. This might stop us from visiting Neys in the future. Some PP's are better access than others, so do your research!
The park/site maps do not show which way sites angle so it is really important to scout out ahead of time to find the best route if possible! Once we got to our site #106 it was a little tight, but clean and fairly level.
As with most PP's the facilities were very clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. There was a little outside noise from a close by train track, but it really was not a deal breaker.
No WiFi and no bars of Bell cell service.

There were several longer travel trailers in Area 2 but the website should warn against bringing motorhomes and tall 5ers to any area other than the pull throughs in Area 1. We don't mind a few branches dragging our top and sides, but this place was a bit much.
The map makes it look like there are water views from Area 2, but no - just more trees.
We didn't have mosquitos that bad the third week of July but they were still there as expected. The park was full but quiet at night. Surprisingly we did get satellite connection in all those trees, and some sun in the mornings. Great privacy and decent site size. Fire ring and picnic table. The seat plank wasn't connected on one side which caused one of us to get dumped on the ground. We just put the plank up on the table and the park fairies brought in a new table overnight- thanks!!
Very long, narrow, rough and bumpy entrance road. We do not have cell coverage in Canada.

Huge spacious campground right on lake superior with beaches. Recommend if heading to This region. Well spaced sites which handled our 42' rig. A few trees could be removed and trimmed up along the campground loop roads to accommodate bigger rigs (there are plenty there so they wont be missed). Lots of trees in between each site for privacy (or as my uncle said "the spots were isolated"). Loaded with well maintained amenities (showers, w/d, picnic gazebos, playgrounds, trail system, etc). Very quiet, lots of space and not jammed in on top of each other. Hook up sites were full so we dry camped. Only negative - vampire mosquitos which seems to be epidemic in Canada.

This park is huge, and not all the sites are created equal, but we really liked our wooded spot in area 2. Area 1 has lake views, but the sites are more open so expect less privacy. Even though we couldn't see the lake from our site, it was only a few minutes walk to the sandy shore. The water was far too cold for swimming, but we did enjoy walking on the beach, and we even hiked the shore trail that followed the rocky shore with some really interesting interpretive signs.
Overall this was a great park in a really beautiful are of Canada.
