This campground is right on the New River. Our site, 36, was feet away from the edge and parallel to it. It was gravel and surprisingly level, had 30 amp, water and sewer. Cheryl, the owner, was very nice, helpful, offered info about the area. Told us they sold ice and wood by the wheelbarrow for $5. Unfortunately we awoke to the ... more

But in order to get to it, you need to drive along very steep, winding mountain roads. It is not for the inexp... more

“Beautiful park right along the New River”

Reviewed Oct 25, 2014

Overall Rating

The family-run park is sandwiched between US 60 (which is a little two lane road that winds through the mountains, but still a bit traffic-y) and the New River. The walls of the gorge rise up above either side of the campground, large sandstone cliffs and beautiful trees everywhere. It was autumn while we stayed, and the sweetgum and s... more
