“Small Quiet And Private”

I arrived at Nehalem Falls Campground in Oregon just as the sun was going down. It was very quiet and feels very secluded. They have 15 campsites, two latrines, one hand pump for water, a garbage dumpster and gray water dumps. The cost is $20 a night and there is a camp host on site. The sites are quite roomy and about half of them back up to the river or stream. It took care of all my needs and it was quite clean. I would stay here again. This is not the kind of campsite you would likely find a lot of small children.

We stayed here on Labor Day, 2018. First thing to know - follow directions from a camping guide, look at Google Earth ahead of time, do anything but follow your phone or GPS. We followed both of those and both of those knuckleheads took us down a single track logging rode. Mind you we are in a long truck towing a 19' Rpod. We had to do about a 6 point turn to get out of there and back on the main road. Yikes. Once we found the campground, we found a nice long back in site - didn't have to un-hook - yay! We had a very large, gorgeous site, with the river down below. Nice trail along the river for walking - found a good spot for the Lab to get wet. All dry camping (except wet dog) and super green!! The falls aren't your typical Oregon waterfalls - more of a narrow spot with concrete along one side. I would not recommend large RVs or really large trailers here.
