Overall Rating
I chanced upon this dispersed camping site while eight others were boondocking here as well. Accessible only with a high clearance vehicle, most of the other campers had 4X4 rigs with campers or tents.
A vault toilet is down the hill about 1/4 mile near the trailhead to the Needles Lookout Tower, which is a great hike at 8,000’ elevation.
Worth a shot to check out.
The Quaking Aspen National Forest campground is down Hwy 190, if you want a campsite with fire ring, bear box, water spigot and nearby toilets for $28 a night.
