Easy to get to but the sign is small. All the sites seem pretty level but they are close together. The campground host seem to keep a good eye on everything.

STOP! At the dump station on the right side of the road(121/898) BEFORE you take the road DOWN to the row of campsites. I stopped to take on water, but missed the working drinking water spigot. The FIRST spigot labeled drinking water had water, the second drinking water spigot on other side of dump hole wasn't functioning. (Camp host said he would let park mgt & maintenance know about that). The only other options for water are the spigots in the park, which require 75 feet of hose to access. AFTER I had filled up, the camp host told me he would have allowed me to tap into the Y on his water supply-go figure!? Camp hosts are very friendly and helpful, on the whole.
The rate reflects Sr. Interagency Pass rate, half of $16/day rate. My rig is a 38 foot diesel pusher and fit in the space easily, though it required driving to end of line of campsites to turnaround to get rig oriented right way to back in (angle). If you have a LONG RIG towing something plan to drive past the LEFT side of the shack at the bottom of the hill (unmanned), to make the hairpin turn going to the campsites. The sites aren't very wide, but enough to enjoy GRASS on each side. Some sites are deeper than others-I saw some folks with camper trailer AND boat on trailer in tow being pulled by truck leaving on Sunday. That, and all their cars, fit on their campsites-impressive! At the back of all the sites are 40-60 foot hardwood trees leafed out for great shade. Power box had 50-30-20 amp plugs. Fifty amp plug showed 116 volts on each leg with power management box. My site had a little dip that kept water in it after the thunderstorm last night-stunning lightening show with 'free' rv & car wash overnight! Leveling with jack feet was minimal, too. My OTA antenna pulls in 18 channels without any fiddling with the direction.
Neighbors with fishing poles or just out for a stroll mosey back and forth with the Missouri River rolling by. The scenery is idyllic and peaceful. SO GLAD I found this quiet place to rest a few days before getting back on the road to a job north of here. There are public bathrooms-I don't use them, so no comment. The fishing hasn't been good (wind), but that doesn't stop many from enjoying feeding the bass, carp, catfish, drum.
An added bonus of stopping-access to a good mobile repair guy. PD's Mobile service came out to check that solar panels weren't loosened by 3 days of driving in wind. He verified they were okay, but he also found crack in seal on forward edge of frig vent cover and sealed it. Had him do some other small replacements (outside 110V plug & cover, baggage door latches that I carry for when they break). Perry DeGroff 605-760-3944 if you need work done on the coach, he is reasonably priced and carries a well stocked truck + tools.

Many site were sloped back to front or front to back. My site left my 36 ft 5th wheel les. Than 3 inches of the ground in the front. Front garage hard to get in. Just be equipped and ready to do some serious work with front/back leveling. Was able to watch Olympics on OTA tv. T-Mobile hot spot was okay. ATT and Visible phones would not even make a FaceTime call. Oddly not much better in Yankton.

I chose Yankton as the staging point for my Lewis & Clark discovery tour of the Dakotas, splitting my time between Cottonwood on the north side of the Gavins Point Dam and Trailwaters on the south side. Both were great which is what I've come to expect with ACE campgrounds. Well maintained overall, mostly level sites, always clean and nice staff. The dump station and fresh water are on the road above the campground before the split to the damn (left) and campground (right). The hydroelectric plant tour was very intimate (you get to see everything!), the floodgates amazing to watch all the water and the abundance of water sports and recreational trails throughout and all the way to Yankton make this a great area to visit. The campground itself is smaller than you might think because there are a number of tent sites at the front and back with only about 31 numbered RV sites. The main tenting area is at the entry (west end) of the campground (34-45), then a substantial gap for the boat ramp parking area, then the RV sites (1-31) and a couple more semi-secluded tenting sites at the very end (32-33).

Just across the Missouri River from Yankton with large comfortable sites overlooking the river. Boat ramp/launch available. Has electric (I have 30 amp, not sure about 50), no water or sewer hookups. Water is available and clean bathrooms with showers.
$8/night with Sr. Pass.
