We had a magical time here. Pulled in quite late, hoping to not disturb anyone. Had no idea what we were going to wake up to. A view of a mirrored lake. Very quiet, clean and gorgeous. The drinking water, that I tested, was better then my own filter. Yum!!!
Dry camping was a treat here.

Man! Perhaps I’m spoiled with all the national parks around us have actual rangers posted there, Utah is not the case. The husband Ozzy is a very good guy that will do what ever he can to help very above and beyond just camp with respect. His wife (Theida) has a serious issue. She tried to blow smoke up our butt about shower tents not being allowed on national park property lol. (We have never had an issue the last 10 years) but cool, perhaps it was something we where un aware of? But 4 other campers had them the entire weekend with no problem and other camp gotta near by national park campgrounds said they where allowed and looked at us like we where stupid when we asked. This woman had a problem with life. So much so her husband was apologizing about here. He would tell something was perfect and in the same breath she would counter. We have a family friend that runs a state park camp ground and this is exactly why he no longer has “hosts”. Other than that it’s an older campground that is up for remodeling next year but it’s beautiful country! However spruces and Navajo are lacking of updates for sure. Think airplane toilets for the “flush bathrooms” .......
Te-ah or duck creek are the superior campgrounds for sure. Much better in layout and privacy from your neighbors, less than 10 min away. And the dump station at duck creek is open. According to theida they closed the ones by Navajo because “all the cabin owners come in and steal all the water” lol. We had fun and lots of land to explore with a Great Lake for swimming. Better places to stay but there are worse as well.

The road up from the interstate was quite steep, but manageable. The water was clear, but it was too windy to take out the kayak. Our site had a small view of the lake. The Navajo Lake dump station was already closed for the season, so we used the one at Duck Creek campground instead.. The campground is larger than the sign in the photo shows, as half of it is located on the south side of the access road.
There was good hiking nearby, with access to the Virgin Rim trail. This campground would be a good choice for visiting Cedar Breaks NM, which is at an even higher elevation.

Gorgeous, small campground by the lake. Didn’t have water when I was there but ended up filing up at Duck Creek down the road. Gets quite windy most nights but that’s expected. Great views and a small town nearby if you need anything. Only con was absolutely 0 cell service and noisy generators. Still would recommend!

Fantastic small mountain lake. We brought an inflateable boat And fished. Also biked the single track around the lake. Four night stay. We liked site 13 as it had the best view but it is a double site so it was twice as much as other sites but was worth it to us. No cell service was available.
