Our site had a fire ring and a picnic table. Everyone that worked at the park was super nice. There was so much to do at the park. We hiked several trails. The tunnel is worth the hike. Over a million years old! They also had a chair lift. We did not ride it. We went near Halloween and they had a day filled with activities for young and old.

We booked online for 4 nights and totally enjoyed the State Park in the fall although day temps were abnormally warm, the nights were excellent to sit by the campfire. We arrived during the week day and hardly anyone around. Check-in staff were very nice as were all park staff we met. Our site at Lovers Leap camping area was perfect for our 38’ Class A w/tow. While we the site had 50A/Water only, the privacy of the site made up for not having sewer connection which a dump station was nearby. This is one of the nicest parks and camping facilities we seen in awhile. The bath houses were great and included washer/dryers. We walked the trails toward the Natural Tunnel for exercise. A delicious little drive-in eatery is not far away with burgers and milk shakes. We will be back.

This is one of our favorite local parks, so favorite that 7 years ago, we started hosting here a couple of months each year. This is one of our favorite local parks, so favorite that 7 years ago, we started hosting here a couple of months each year. It has two campgrounds, Lover's Leap (30/50 amp) 17 back-in sites, 1 pull-thru and Cove View (20/30 amp) 16 pull-thru sites that is not appropriate for anything over 35 ft in length. Lover's Leap is a circle with 3 sites on the inside of the circle and the rest around the outside edge. The way they are configured, you have plenty of privacy. Sites 13 (pull-thru) and 14 are "buddy sites". All sites are gravel and pea gravel and have fire pits. These sites range in length from 50 ft to 85 ft in length.
Cove View is all pull-thru sites and it is on a slight incline, so the sites are sort of tiered with 2-3 sites on each column and 6 rows. There is a nice bath house that is older, but is kept very cleaned - cleaned twice per day by the staff. All sites have a fire pit in the grassy area of each site and the site is gravel.
There is much to do inside the park with the Natural Tunnel being the highlight. The park is open from 8 am until dusk. The chairlift operates during the summer season from 10-6 daily. In the spring and in the late fall, the chairlift operates on Saturday and Sunday. The park is located in the mountains, so you have some steep hills to climb, both in your vehicle or on the trails. That's what gives the spectacular views. The swimming pool usually opens the weekend prior to Memorial Day and is open daily until Labor Day.

We didn’t get to spend a whole lot of time here but trusted the other reviews and we weren’t disappointed. Bath house in the Lovers Loop was really clean and nice showers. Sites looked mostly level with modern upgrades power posts. I would like to come back and explore this park more.

This was our first foray out in our MH in late October. The Fall colors were still vibrant. Lovely State Park. We stayed in the newer loop "Lovers Leap" with 50 amp coverage and brand new Bathhouse. Perfect, level gravel pad. Easy to back in our 32-footer. We enjoyed our hikes down into the gorge where we caught a Chairlift for only $2 down to the walkway that led us to the large Natural Tunnel formed into the side of the mountain. Very interesting historical information. Lovely gift shop. We are sorry that the Christmas lighting of the Tunnel was cancelled that night due to heavy rains that moved into the area. CAUTION: Entrance to the Park is a VERY steep short hill up to Park's level. Doable but just go slow.

If your coming to the area treat yourself to a stay in this park. You'll want to book a reservation Shara's of time and get yourself a site on the lovers leap loop. The sites here are really top choice with privacy, good water, and 50a electric connections. Site 10 was right next to the bath house which is not nomally my first choice but the view was incredible for a campground with hookups. We stayed here for thanksgiving and there was only one other class A and one other group of tent campers. Off season reservations are not needed. You can self serve at the kiosk on your honor. There is no camp host off season. We saw the ranger drive around one morning so your not totally alone even though it feels like it. We had family stay in the cabins that are about a 1/4 mile down the road and are also incredible. I rode about half the mountain biking trails in an hour and they were also in impressive condition. I will definitely be coming back if I'm in this area again.
