Stayed for a night while driving through Iowa. Convenient to I-80 and had electrical hook up. Stayed during the week so it wasn't to crowded.

Park is about 5 miles North of Stuart and easy to get to. It is a first come first serve campground but the locals tend to put a tag on a site a few days before they bring their camper so be aware of this. When you pull into park there will be a sign pointing to the right saying “Camping”. If you go to the right know it is a very steep hill So be careful. It would be better to stay straight which is a narrow road but cleared well. It will lead you to the “upper” campground. The steep road takes you to the lower campground which is a lot of group camping. You can access the lower campground from upper. The upper has a large turn around, water spigot, access to dump and shower house if needed.
We stayed in upper campground site A which is huge and only one camper across the street. That one also had 50amp and water near. Very quiet.

This is a very nice county park. Very well maintained and a beautiful place to relax. Lots of trails for hiking if that is your thing but also a neat river for fishing or relaxing. Lot of shady camping sites with electric hookups. Try it out, bet you will like it
TerryR would stay here again
