Stayed Early Sept. We got super lucky, so it's hard to give a review that would benefit everyone. We paid for a premium site but didn't want to pay the waterfront rate, so we were one row back from the water. We were there for 2 weeks and for most of the trip no one was in front of us giving us the most amazing water and mountain views you could ask for. And I don't care how much you hate sunrise, if you don't wake up to see the sunrise here at least once, you've lost an amazing opportunity. Our view was so perfect even from bed, I just had to pick up my head and I could see the water and sunrise, but it was even better going down to the water. There weren't a ton of amenities, plus it was Sept, so there were very few kids. There was a skunk living near the area you walk down to the water and he enjoyed visiting sites at night. Kayaking is normally fantastic here, but we had a ton of bad weather.
Horrible cell service! Worst of any park we've been to yet. Luckily we had an antenna that helped, but it was also so windy we almost had damage from the antennae swaying so much.
Being about 30 min from Acadia/Bar Harbor made me feel far away since that's really all there is to do. There's a great bakery right across the street from the campground entrance and tons of very good lobster pounds everywhere.
There's a small airport right next to the campground but noise wasn't an issue at all. You can't fly a drone because of the airport, so we decided to take a scenic flight instead. It was very reasonably priced and amazing, but not my thing due to motion sickness.

When we made our reservations 7 months prior and picked our site, we did not read the fine print that RV on the Go could change your site without notice. When I tried to get the site we selected, the lady asked who we made our reservations through and we said the number on the website, she replied we should have made them directly through the camoground. I told her we used the number on the website, her reply was that the regulars know the number. So when we get to the site, the 50amp power was not working and we only had 30amp. When we tried to get it fixed or moved to a site similar to what we had booked, there only reply was that it was a weekend and no one would be available until the next day or we could go to an emergency site up by the road. So not only did we not get the site we wanted, we didn’t get the power we requested, with no change in the price charged or refund.

We stayed here for two nights after staying for two nights up the road at Timberland Acres so forgive me if I compare the two parks.
The sites were gravel and fairly level. The power was good water was good but a bit low on pressure. Also, the water hookup was very close to the ground (about 6”) That’s just a little pet peeve of mine which makes it a bit more difficult to use. The sewer hookup at most sites that I noticed was several inches above ground.
The park is right next to the Bar Harbor airport and they have quite a few scenic flights in and out all day so if that bothers you, maybe try a different place.
There is a path down to the rocky beach which is very attractive. Lots of big rigs parked in the high dollar spots.
The restroom and shower facilities are ok but in need of a bit of an update.
All in all it’s an acceptable RV park but just seems like there is much less maintenance going on here than in Timberland Acres. It is about 10 minutes closer to Acadia so that’s the best thing about it.

We stayed in site #844 and loved how convenient the campground is to visit Acadia National Park. However, the internet here is terrible. The park does have free wifi, but you get what you pay for. The service dropped constantly and was barely useable. We had 1 bar of AT&T without our Weboost, and speeds were <1 Mbps. After setting up the Weboost, we were able to gain several bars, but the service did not improve all that much. We would sometimes get >1 Mbps, but not consistently. Cable connection at the site for 60 or so channels. Our site was rather short for our 37-foot fifth wheel, and we had to park our truck in the overflow parking. Sites are rather close together, and we noticed our sewer connection was located under the neighbor's picnic table. They moved their picnic table, but we noticed many of the sites had picnic tables over the neighboring sewer connection. The airport nearby was noisy on occasion but not unbearable.

Check in was quick and we proceeded to site 605 which was a FHU back-in. Back-in was easy since the sites across the road were empty (we were here the last week of September to October). From our site we could see the bay as 604 and 603 were empty first couple days of our week long stay. We had requested three choices on sites 6 months prior to our stay but only one was available, site 630 and they advised it would be a tight fit since we had opposing slides. We checked it out upon arrival and it would have been tight. This was a large park with pull throughs up front then back-ins towards the water views. Water view sites for the most part were crowded together. There was a dog park with a fence and gate into a large area (about two acres) with dog agility equipment. However, there was a sign that stated dogs had to be leashed as the sides and back of the “dog area” were not fenced. Big disappointment that this area was not off leash, and not sure who can run fast enough with a dog on a 6’ leash to work agility? We also noticed that the dog waste bag holders in the park were empty the whole week. We got 2 bars on Verizon and 1 bar on AT&T. We put up our WeBoost, which took our Verizon signal up to 3 to 4 bars. They had a good variety of channels on the cable service. With all the transponders throughout the park, the WiFi worked above average compared to other parks this size. We were surprised at the amount of road noise we got this far back in the CG. Our friends had a water view site and said the road noise was really bad at their site. There was an airport nearby that had regular jet flights and scenic tours. The noise from the airport was mainly during the day and not too bad. With the other campgrounds in the area, we would try somewhere else.

We used this campground as our basecamp for exploring Acadia National Park. It's only about a 30 minute drive from the campground to the top of Mt Washington.
We stayed in site 802. It was a large gravel back-in site. Full hookups. 52psi water, 50amp, and sewer. The sewer connection didn't screw in and the donut wouldn't grip very well so we had to use weights to keep the hose from coming out of the sewer connection. Never had a problem but we crossed our fingers every time we pulled our black tank valves!
Cell service was barely accessible. Only 1 bar or less on AT&T and Verizon. Not good enough for streaming. Had to walk around the site and the campground sometimes just to make a call or check social media.
We stayed for 6 nights as part of our Thousand Trails membership. I'm still unsure how much we ended up paying because we were at first charged extra for children we don't have. We haven't had any issues at 25 other TT campgrounds this past year, but Narrows Too said our reservation had a couple extra children and an extra adult so they charged us more. The office workers were rude and said "it's not our problem" and it took a couple days for the manager to call us back and let us know that they refunded some of our payment. The emailed receipt has multiple charges and multiple refunds so we don't know what the final cost was.
But aside from the payment issues, the campground was fine for what we needed. The campground was almost empty when we stayed. We were assigned a site over in the corner with a couple other RVs. One neighboring RV wasn't occupied and the other neighbors were out exploring like us all day so it was pretty quiet.
The "beach" looks pretty when the tide is in, but when the tide is out it's basically a muddy mess. No big deal since we just drove into Bar Harbor for better beaches.

Our site was well maintained. The staff was very friendly. The pool area is in need of updating and it would be nice to have a swing set or something for the kids. The dog park was great but would have been nice if it was fenced in. Sites looked well maintained overall but additional gravel was needed on some of the roads and weeding was needed on many of the sites as grass was growing into the gravel pads. The location is great and is a greet jumping point for Acadia. Be sure to check out sugar bakery across the street!

We enjoyed our morning and nightly walks down to the beach. Even got in a couple of kayak and SUP adventures. While the Acadia shuttle wasn’t running it is an easy drive into the park and all things on Mt. Desert. Great base camp for adventures. Would definitely stay here again.

Those paying retail can expect to spend $60- $100 a night, depending on the sites type. They offer water views that are truly stunning. All sites are level, but close together so meet your neighbor! As a bonus, this campground is on the FREE SHUTTLE that runs all over the island.
This campground is nicely located just before the Trenton Bridge entrance to Mount Desert Island, home of Acadia National Park, numerous fishing villages and lots of beautiful hiking and biking. Its also home to trendy Bar Harbor, and visiting hordes from the many large ships that visit, so bring your deeper pockets as prices are high.
Seafood (lobstah!) is everywhere but ask around...many of the restaurants are over priced. Look for specials at the lobster pounds (we found Trenton Bridge to have the best prices this time around). Also, make sure to add Ruth & Whimpy's Lobster Restaurant to your list and go on the nights they offer special pricing.
There is much to do in this beautiful part of Downeast. Be sure to drive the ocean roads and check out the small villages; many have large, beautiful granite sculptures created by the Schoodic Sculpture Trail (Google it). Visit the "other" side of Acadia National Park, located on the Schoodic Peninsula; enter via Winter Harbor and don't be surprised if you see artists set up on the side of the road, capturing the view. If you are in the area, in August, there are many places you can go to pick wild blueberries or simply photograph those lovely beauties (expect blues, reds, oranges as the nights get cooler). Enjoy!
