Nancy Lake State Recreation Site

We ended up only doing a drive through as spots were too small for our 32 ft fifth wheel. No camp host, campground doesn’t look well maintained. We were able to make the drive around the loops, but barely. We could have maybe crammed the trailer into one or two spots, but the truck would have had to go elsewhere and most spots were too narrow for our slides. Only two other campers in the place at 4pm. Headed to south rolly for hopefully better luck…

Drei Loops gibt es hier mit zahlreichen Stellplätzen im Wald. Einige mehr oder weniger schief, aber schön und ruhig gelegen. Wir sind gegen 20:30 Uhr am 04.07. angereist und hatten eine große Auswahl an Plätzen. Zahlautomat vorhanden.

There are three loops here with numerous parking spaces in the forest. Some more or less crooked, but nice and quiet. We are around 8:30pm on 04/07. Arrived and had a wide choice of seats. Pay machine available.

We arrived on the 4th and the place was packed with weekenders enjoying the holiday. By early afternoon of the 5th we were one of only three campers left and that seems to be the norm here.

The loops and sites are quite small, making for a slightly difficult entry with a 27 foot trailer in tow. If you are towing anything larger than 30', you best be experienced at it. Sites are so-so, usually backed up to or directly beside another site. Privacy will not be a reality unless the campground is nearly empty. Some sites are not very level, but nothing a few blocks can't fix.

I was a little turned off by the amount of trash strewn about. Maybe from the holiday traffic, but I failed to see the campground Host(s) maintaining any sites after the campers left, so obviously there was always trash being left behind.

No real trails leading out of this campground but there is easy access to a boat ramp (separate fee to launch). Drive a few short miles further into the red area and you have a few choices of hiking and canoe trails worth the activity.

The dirt road leading to the campground seemed to have a lot of truck traffic, which meant a lot of noise during the daylight hours.
