“Shady strip of campsites along creek”

You might miss this campground if you blink. It's just a short strip of sites along the creek with a picnic table and fire ring. It's right on the creek which makes for a nice setting. Your neighbors are close so not much privacy. Trash cans and 2 pit toilets to keep the camp clean. Good place to stay if it's mostly empty. No Cell service. You'll have to drive about 7 miles East to get 4G. I didn't overnight here as there are creekside campsites along the road not far away.

“Nice option when all Big Sur campgrounds are full”

Vault toilet / no water available / no bathroom sink / no shower / table / fire pit / moderate-easy access / high shade.

We were there because all Big Sur costal campgrounds were full. The road from the coast to the camprground is steep, with gravels and cliffs. But you have an amazing view from the top! At Sunset, there was a pink cloud sea… gorgeous. Be aware that night can be cold: you're high. It takes approx. 1:30 to go from the coast to the campground. The campground is nice, there are approx. 10 sites but it wasn't really busy, even if we arrive at night. A small river runs through the campground, which is convenient. A little further, there are two (?) others campgrounds. We stayed there at the end of May.
