This park is right in the beach which is great. They have laundry and a general store that are both nice. The park is mostly sand with small strips of grass. There is nowhere besides the beach to walk your dog so if they do not do their business in sand… they have nowhere. Motorcycles, motorbikes, and scooters are not allowed inside the park at all and must be parked in the parking lot outside the gates. Only permanent residents can use their golf cart inside the gate also. The laundry room is a long walk from most sites with walking being the only solution, with your laundry. The indoor pool was over treated, we swam in there about 15 minutes and my children’s eyes were swollen and burning all night. In the laundry room some dryers are 6 minute for $.25 and some are 10 minutes for $.25. Some are really picky about taking quarters also. Fishing is supposed to be allowed in the pond, however you can’t fish on the docks, only on the bank of the pond which is other peoples campsites. The staff was very mixed in friendliness. Many are very nice, many more were not. We will not recommend a stay here.

We played pickle ball at the pavilion, thanksgiving dinner at the winter hall, swam at the indoor pool and more! I downloaded the app for the park and it’s great to see what’s happening around the park. We will be Back on our way from Florida!

It was a short layover on our way to Maryland, and sites are definitely tight. We are a large rig and luckily got a RV site across from the bathrooms so parking was a breeze.
The part that makes it worth it is the location to the beach! You are literally steps to the ocean and to the North of the park is nothing but unoccupied beach and dunes. We were able to ride our electric bikes for miles and loved every minute of it!
Park also has lots of amenities and an incredibly friendly staff.
It was such a great stay we booked to come back for all of October and November.

I agree with other reviews, that the park was much better under old management. So many little things add up to a bad feeling about a once great park.
First:
We were told that you can't reserve a campsite certain site, only the area you will be in. We were camping with other family members and requested to be next to them. Again was told you can't reserve a certain site. We were told we would be diagonal from them. We took this to mean one street over and a site or two down. NOPE!!! we are one street over and 7 sites down. That would not be so bad if there were not sites open across the street from them (on both front and back). The said we couldn't have them because someone else was going in them. I will refer you back to there they said you can't reserve a site. If you can't reserve sites how did they reserve a site??????
Second:
We got new neighbors next to us, not a bad thing because we camped with them in FL this past January. They had been at the park for a few weeks and had to move because someone else was supposed to get the site they were in. Can anyone explain how that works??????
Third:
If you offer a service make sure it works or don't offer it as part of your services. I am a retired IT guy and worked in the field for many years. I was never able to get their WIFI to work. Again, if you offer it, make sure it works.
You would be better off looking someplace else to stay while in the area.
They do have great beach access but that is the only great part about the park.

I spent the month of August on the beach side with my dog LuLu. Although busy because of the summer period and size, it was perfect. People were respectful regarding noise and the staff were responsive to include receiving my numerous Amazon Prime packages.

My family has been camping at Myrtle Beach Travel Park every June for nearly 50 years. We've watched our children, and those of other families who always camped at the same time year after year, grow up and make amazing memories in this campground -- riding bikes, walking to the ocean at the end of the row, getting ice cream from the camp store on special nights. So many special memories..........which we are heartbroken to say are no longer an option under the new management.
With a change in ownership about two years ago and with the allowance of public alcohol consumption, this is no longer the Myrtle Beach Travel Park we've known and loved for so many years. Public intoxication. Trashy campers, trashy campsites. Loud music. Endlessly barking dogs. Increasing theft of items from campers at night. Golf carts were introduced with the change in management, and what were previously safe roads for little kids, have now become cruising spots for restless teenagers -- in both cars and golf carts. Tonight, we had to move our dinner from our in-laws camper to ours because our truck provided some shielding from the "f" bombs, music, and stripper stories coming from the camper across the street from us.
Please don't misunderstand -- we agree people are free to do as they please inside their own campers, however, when they start to impact others' experiences, that's a problem. And the rules instituted by the new management of MBTP allow for a different type of clientele, who are unaffected by the impact they are having on others. It's amazing what a difference public alcohol consumption can make on the overall atmosphere of a campground. It's heartbreaking, to be honest. It breaks mine and my family's hearts to acknowledge, that after almost 50 years of family tradition, we will not be back.

We were shocked at how big this camp is. There are hundreds of spots right on the beach. The pool looked new. We had a good time walking on the beach.

Stayed in Mid October, the water was still warm enough to swim. From our site you could see waves breaking on the beach from inside and outside the RV. Well maintained park with level sandy site, each one has a little sun hut. Had a lot of fun here.

One small negative, there were TONS of "sand-burs". Every time we walked the dog they had dozens in their paws. A little weed killer would go a long way.
One BIG negative, the staff was outright rude! At one point I walked into the store to buy a mask (as required), my shirt was covering my face. The staff person literally yelled across the store telling me I had to leave. I said I was just there to get a mask, which didn't matter. While this was happening there was a gentleman paying at the register with no mask and the other cashier had his mask on his chin (covering nothing). It would have been easy for her to just say "I'm sorry. We require masks. Someone can bring a mask out to you, then you can come in and pay." Rather, she went on a power trip, embarrassed a guest and did nothing to solve the problem.
There were 2 other interactions where the staff was dismissive at best.
We were there right as the state started to re-open from the COIVD shutdown. The amenities were limited as expected. The pool opened while we were there to a limited number of guests at a time. The restrooms opened halfway through our stay and were VERY clean. The laundry, shop and restaurant were open on a limited basis and required a mask to enter. Even on a limited basis the amenities were very nice. They were well maintained, clean and well stocked. The store was fairly expensive (as you might expect with a captive group).

We loved this place! It was our first stay in a resort like this and we weren’t disappointed. Sure it’s a bit pricey, but totally affordable for a couple of nights. We had lots of neighbors in our full-hookup area, but the spaces still felt laid out nice and semi private. The bathrooms and showers were always clean and stocked, and the pool area was equally well-attended. We enjoyed splashing around in the play area, tried the lazy river and the indoor heated pool. The accessibility to the beach was awesome — we took walks in the evening and runs in the morning. Beer in the camp store was a tad expensive. There was a bunch of Halloween activities going on the weekend we were there - trick or treating for the kids, a pet costume contest but it was always peaceful and we got good sleep. The place is huge, lots of full-timers but again, very well laid out. We’ll absolutely be back!
Only 2 bummers were the fact that when it rained, our site got soaked. And its all sand and dirt. So wet sand=wet sandy RV floor. I would have loved to seen concrete pads, but you can’t always get what you want! And the WIFI sucks. Don’t count on it. Super spotty from our site. The free cable was great though.
