Enjoyed our stay in this beautiful park. We stayed the second week of October and the leaves on the trees were changing colors and falling. Truly spectacular. True that the sites are not level. We were originally assigned site 26 for our 40 ft 5th wheel which would not fit. There was a very big drop off. We changed sites and stayed in site 4 which was a pull through close to the golf course. Very quiet. The restrooms need some updating. We had 3amps, water & no sewer. However there is a dump station. Would recommend for short stays in the autumn.

This is a smaller campground in the middle of Bardstown. There were no entrance or vehicle fees for camping in this State Park, however it is not really near the historic buildings of My Old Kentucky Home. The sites are a bit small and close together, and we picked one rated as a "Severe" grade and we couldn't get as level as we prefer. There are free showers, although water smells a little sulphur-y. The fees seem to vary depending on the month or if it is a weekend, but we got a cheaper than posted rate booking online with a AAA discount.
There was a small, older playground, however areas were roped off due to yellow jacket nests. The park was mostly booked on a mid-September weekend, with mostly out-of-staters. Bardstown is a great place to tour Bourbon distilleries and has a very cute historic downtown with nice shopping. We enjoyed our visit here.

Although many of the sites are not level and the utilities are shared, I really enjoyed my stay at this campground in September 2019. In sight 24 we were able to get level without even using blocks or levelers. however, the utility pole between our site and the other was extremely far and we barely were able to connect. That is the case for many of the sites here, but the ones closer to the bath house seem to be better from that respect. Speaking of the bath house, it was very clean and had good water pressure for showering.
There is a dog park within walking distanceas well as the Heaven Hill distillery. The State Park golf course is connected to the campground, so you can easily hit the links from here too.

Unfortunately all the sites long enough for our 34 ft MH were extremely unlevel. Like us, all the big rigs in the park had one set of their jacks fully extended trying to get as level as possible.

We stopped here randomly for one night in mid March to break up a long drive. The ranger had left already but there was a very friendly man in the golf shop who said he wasn’t technically the person who dealt with reservations but could charge us the off season rate of $16/night. I think he could sense that we were desperate for a place to sleep and we really appreciated his help. The park was small but fine. As another poster mentioned, some hookups are placed in odd spots, like really far from the nearest campsite. Not all sites are level, maybe half were good. When we arrived there was barely anyone else around so we had our pick. The bathrooms were clean, shower was warm. I felt very grateful to get all the amentities for such a good price, but it was off season so I know the price is usually higher. It’s a good location if you’re doing the Bourbon Trail, very close to several Distilleries.

Yes most of the sites are not level and you'll be challenged in your leveling abilities. Yes some of the electric and water connections are in odd locations. So make sure you have extra electric cord and water hose. But if you've camped more than once then you should have those items anyway. We did not use the restrooms or showers so I can't comment on them. All though we did notice staff cleaning them on a daily basis. Site 22 was semi level and only 10' from electric and water connections. We will definitely stay here again.

The restrooms and showers we well kept.

The master class As did it though as did some big trailers. The electric and water are spaced evenly between sites so you need extra long hoses and cords. Our site did have sewer but only 5 do. There is a bath house it was fine, older but clean. The grounds are very clean. There is some run off in areas but our site was fine. We had a couple of good rains while here. We liked it for its location to the distilleries and historical sites.
Bardstown is a quaint little town.

It's very small and some spots are difficult to get into. Our 30' airstream couldn't fit into the original spot we booked but luckily, spot 32 was available for the entire 6 nights we are here so we were able to switch.
I can't speak about the distilleries yet as we just got here but plan on taking full advantage of the bourbon tastings nearby. One distillery, Heaven Hill, is within walking distance and Willett distillery is less than 2 miles away.
Good signal without a booster for Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T.
I would only camp here again if we got a level spot....not too many of those around here. On reserve america, avoid the sites where driveway grade says SEVERE. I wasn't sure what that meant until we got here. Luckily we had enough leveling blocks.
