Great location- walking distance to the beach and short drive to the National Seashore. Price is great especially with the TX State park pass. The only negatives are you’re basically camping in a parking lot and you have to share the restrooms/showers with beach goers that aren’t camping

Sites are close together. Facilities and services are adequate. 50 amp electric and water worked well. No noise except the crashing waves. Beach is about 1/4 mile away, there is a parking lot near the beach. Beach is excellent, easily walk-able for long distances in both directions. There are grass areas around the camp sites.
AT&T cell coverage was good, streamed with no problem without a booster. 3-4 bars of 5G.

Easy access to the beech for walking & driving. (4x4 recommended) Corpus Christi is about a 10 minute drive for any service needed.

The developed campground is a large paved parking lot with campsites located around the outside perimeter. Each campsite has a pergola, picnic table and charcoal grill. The campsites were adequate but not well-maintained. Kind of messy, actually. The bathhouse was clean and in good condition, with showers and flush toilets.
There is road noise from the nearby highway.

4th of July weekend saw high capacity crowds, but was quite quiet for busy in and out traffic. Restroom and showers were getting heavily used. Saw staff cleaning shower/restrooms at least twice a day (saw them three time one day)
The island is still recovering from Hurricane Harvey (2017) and the park rangers are still in temporary quarters since then. Texas needs to get on the ball and get the park fixed!

We came for a wedding in July 2022 and always heard such great things about Mustang Island, but this park is GROSS!
It’s water and electric only, so of course we’re trying to conserve our black tank, but we will just use our dumper tank. I refuse to use these bathrooms, and they’re not really even bathrooms as the ‘showers’ do not have hot water. They are for rinsing off the sand and that’s all.

Nice level spot close to the beach. I called when I realized I'd be checking in after hours but the nice person who answered the phone told me to just check in the next morning.
The bathrooms were clean, the shower had warm water which was nice. It's a pretty quiet campground with lots of folks just chilling out, fishing, or walking their dogs. There's a little road noise, but not too bad. I had no problems getting enough TMobile 5G signal to run my hotspot and work remotely. I have a Verizon hotspot for backup and it had plenty of signal, too.

Good cheap place to stay while touring the area. Bathrooms well maintained. Sites are nothing to write home about but for the price and location it’s a good choice.

Close access to a nice gulf coast beach. This spot gives us quick access to FCFS campground on Padre Island National Seashore. The state park is also close to the highway which has lots of road noise. And it is just a parking lot.
