Murphy's Camping on the Ocean

Everything looks great,beautiful setting, friendly communal fire every evening, boats tours, free coffee in the morning, until I read the small laminated sign over the sink saying their water didn’t pass safe drinking levels and they are waiting for the results of the next test. In the mean time, bottled water is for sale at their main office. I’ve never been to a campground where we couldn’t drink the water. Maybe they could offer the first gallon of water to you for free? There was no date on the sign indicating when they failed their water inspection, nor when they are expecting the results of next test; days, weeks, or months?!?

Very cute little campground on a spit out into the craggy nooks of eastern Nova Scotia. We got an unserviced site right next to a little playground. Some view but the others down the little road to the dock or up on a knoll had even better. Murphy runs boat tours (or remote island drop offs!) from the dock where there are small crab traps for the kids to play with. They layed on the dock luring incredibly camouflaged crabs in to the traps with ham for an hour (and then went down again before bedtime).

At dusk, they fire up the communal campfire and put on a pot of mussels for everyone. Very friendly folks and a beautiful spot. Also close to Taylors Head which is supposed to be great walk. Stop in of your in the area!

I think there might have been some wifi but CG connections are always barely useable. Good cell data otherwise.
