We could stay only a day and as luck would have it, Site 98 gave us the lake less than 20 steps from our door WITH full hookups. I was warmly welcomed and the registration process was smooth. I will echo the prior posts, it's a decent campground to experience the area and my overall score of 5 stars reflects the lakeshore site. There is some road noise from Hwy 28 but the lakeshore sites and views will make up for it.

The main reason for giving this place four stars has to do with the location of the park and the friendliness of the staff. You have access to a clean beach right from the part, and it's a pretty easy kayak or canoe paddle to the Grand Isle from this location. It's a short bike ride or long walk to the Duck Pond Eatery which has a nice back patio, really good food, and a lengthy beer selection. The campground is also fairly close to downtown Munising which makes it pretty easy to get groceries, etc.
All in all, not a bad pick if you're visiting the area and want a decent place to stay.

This place gets booked up fast in the summer months due to its proximity to the more scenic sections of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. They have a nice "Overflow" area, that also serves as a "first come first serve" area. Depending on how many people are already in the overflow you better have a long power cable. We had to use our 100' 20 amp cable with a 30 amp adapter to make it, because there was a class A between us and the power box. Water was a bit easier to get to, needed only 50' of hose. We didn't really get a chance to explore the campground itself, but it seemed ok. Lakefront sites, decent dump station, and close to the town of Munising.
