The closest Thousand Trails (we have the camping pass w/ Trails membership, thus the no added charge) campground to Bar Harbor. With a great view of the ocean, the location trumps all else with this park. Yes, the amenities show their age, especially the laundry room, but we could definitely get by without a whole lot of top tier items. While inconvenient to have no sewer hook up for a 14-day stay, they do have a honey wagon--though we just opted to take our Class C to the dump station. I enjoyed staying in a TT campground that had a great variety of RVs, from campervans to Class As, as well as spots for tents throughout. Management had no issue with our leaving the RV for a three-night excursion to Nova Scotia, taking the CAT Ferry both ways. Highly enjoyable!

This park is located on the ocean and has some beautiful views. The Wifi worked well in this park. The staff was friendly and helpful but they were limited in what they could do because of company policy. The campground is probably 40-50 years old and has not been maintained. Many of the once level sites have drifted downhill to the ocean and are no longer level. If you are not good at leveling your RV make sure they give you a level site. The sites are just long enough for your RV so if you have a tow or towed vehicle you must either park in what little yard you have or along the road. There were plumbing leaks in the bathrooms and showers that were not addressed during my month long stay. The gravel roads were constantly being washed away by the regular rains and were never really repaired. It was clear that the campground management and owners (Thousand Trails) cared little about anything except collecting fees.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating and the location was great to get to Bar Harbor. Unfortunately the sites are not level and the ground is soft. The place is a bit run down and could use a lot of updating.

Staff were very friendly and the location is great but no money has been invested in this park in a long while. Site was not very level and needed new gravel and some trees trimmed. Right on the water so walking around was pretty.

This is a beautiful campground with plenty of tent and rv sites. Not a city slicker camp ground bring bug spray and if you like it noisy don’t come.

Campground has tons of mosquitoes. Apparently there is lots of standing water that the campground doesn’t care to mitigate. We were there for 9 days and were unable to sit outside the entire time for risk of being attacked. We were going to move campgrounds but would not receive a refund. Also, the water is literally brown. The explanation was they have high iron content. As a water Industry professional this would never be acceptable for any of our customers to serve brown water. The campground even has disclaimers in the laundry room about not taking responsibility for any damage to clothes because of the water. I would recommend other campgrounds nearby and ask about their groundwater conditions or if they are on city water. Stay at your own risk!

We camped at Narrows best II with a pop up. Lots of shade. Bathrooms are kept clean, not brand new, but what you would expect. Fellow campers are quiet and considerate. Everyone seems to head out to Acadia by 10a. The Sunset views from camp are amazing.

Be aware that some of the listed ocean front sites have obstructed views such as our site. So if you’re looking for an open view don’t chose the site we stayed at. Also there is very little space between sites, to the point where we couldn’t put our awning out.
We did notice like some of the other campers commented, the sites were quite unlevel, especially the pull through sites.
For what we paid for this campsite I think it was a bit much for the quality of the campsite/campground. I would choose somewhere else next time.

When you make reservations tell them you do not want site 139. It is almost unusable as it is a big hill sloping down to the front of the site. I had to park almost sideways to get level with the front raised tenuously high and the rear close to the ground. After rains I had to put my truck in 4 wheel drive to back into the front of the site and park on the hill.
I asked if I could change sites and was told (verbatim) "Oh, you are Thousand Trails. We can't help you.". Rude people and crappy sites if you are TT.
I'd still stay there again for Acadia and Bar Harbor only. Well ... and the killer August/September weather. Not for the camp ground. I certainly wouldn't pay to stay there.
Water was pretty grungy. WIFI was hit and miss. ATT cell was serviceable by itself - MiMo helped.

Propane refill on-site, store with firewood and some basic RV necessities.
We were originally assigned to site 163, which was a full hookup site and generally a nice site with plenty of room between neighbors but no view other than RVs and it was close enough to the main road that the road noise was very noticeable. We decided to move to a site on the sound/ocean after seeing the amazing
views, even though the "ocean front" sites did not have sewer. The move was well worth it.
The campground is convenient for getting to Bar Harbor and The Acadia National Forest.
If we're ever in the area again (and we still have a Thousand Trails/Trails Collection membership) we will definitely stay here again.
