We are very happy that we randomly happened on this campground while driving through Idaho. The sites are nicely groomed and spread out, many of them right on the serene Payette River.
And somehow we got ATT cell service out here (50mb down and 25mb up), where it's been very spotty in general in much of Idaho. We do have signal boosters and an antenna, so take that speed with a grain of salt. Even so, there are plenty of places nearby where we got not signal at all.
Even better for us, it's free all fall/winter! Until Memorial Day 2022. We have solar and no need for facilities or amenities — if you're boondocking, this is a great option. No potable water or dumping during the winter, but the vault toilets are still available. I didn't use them because they probably haven't been attended to in months either. There are also a few dumpsters and I saw a trash truck come through once.
The sites are essentially level and have nice fire rings and picnic tables. Many have well groomer areas for tents to go as well.
All in all this is about as nice a boondocking spot as you can get during the off-season.

Great little camp on the south fork Payette River. A bit of highway noise, but mostly drowned out by the river noise. Maybe 25% occupied in mid September. Camp host spot was empty. $7.50 per night with lifetime pass.

We stopped here for the night and ended up with the best spot in the campground. 15’ from the river. Very quiet other than it’s a landing location for rafters.
Dave would stay here again
