With a bunch of digging on the web site I also found this note. I called to see if this was a true statement as this is the first KOA that we have stayed in with a restriction. We have stayed in KOA's all accross the country. They confrimed nothing that even looks like a Quote Pit Bull. Very Dissapointed. If they are to restrict breeds they need to post this when making the reservation.

I cannot explain to you how awesome it was. The staff is amazing and the breakfast staff in the morning and the couple that organizes all of the fun things to do this park truly is amazing. I would advise everyone to come here. It’s nice and quiet and very relaxing.

We camped here for Memorial Day weekend 2023. It rained the first two days due to a tropical storm passing through the area. We were able to find plenty to do in the surrounding area and stay dry. Sunday and Monday were beautiful and the kids got to explore the campsite more. The park was very clean with a very friendly staff. They even put on a great fireworks show over the lake on Sunday evening. We had a great view from the swing on our site. We will definitely be back when we can stay even longer.

Sites are very close to level. Decent space between each site. Bathrooms were clean. Playground, disc golf, and hiking trails. My only issues are the roads( no direction) and not every site having sewer.

Staff was very friendly & helpful. It’s easy to get in & out. We are 39’ class A towing a vehicle and we had a pull thru. We wanted to visit Charleston and this was not too far. We’d recommend it. Only complaint is, the “grass” area of our pull thru site, they are all over grown with those clover looking weeds with the burs that get in your dogs hair and you have to cut out! They were mowing all over the park and it’s well maintained except our area, standard pull thru site 056. The elite pull thrus as you first enter were gorgeous if you want to lounge outside etc but we were only using park to rest. Hubby says bath showers were nice.

Chose the campground due to proximity to family for Thanksgiving.Staff was super nice - showed me to my site and let me set up a parking pass for my dad to stop by and then showed us to our site. They regularly pick up trash during daylight hours, deliver firewood, and pet puppies :-) We spent a whole day just hanging around the campground enjoying the dog park by the lake and trails through the woods. Bathrooms were always clean and my husband opted for them over the camper. If you don’t follow your GPS, you turn left out of the campground to come out to 17 at a light. Disappointing that our fire ring wasn’t closer to our picnic table and set up spot. Struggles to connect to wifi but had good cell connection with Verizon and T Mobile.

This was our second time staying at the Mount Pleasant KOA, and we had another amazing experience! Not only is the location fantastic for Isle of Palms / Sullivan’s Island beaches, but the attention to detail from staff and help they provide is unlike anything we have experienced at any campground. The service was excellent and we felt the staff couldn’t do enough to help us. Just one example: I happened to be spraying bug spray around my tires (which I often do in the south) and a member of staff stopped and asked if we wanted the entire site sprayed for ants. Great service. Would highly recommend this KOA! In addition, Lake and amenities are superb.

They offered a router for streaming, a nice touch. Sites are tight but adequate. It is a large park. A premium site here is a good decision.
The location is fine although you should expect to travel 35 minutes into downtown Charleston. Given normal traffic, the trip is acceptable. There are many places to eat and shop nearby and on the way between downtown and Mt. Pleasant. There is a Walmart, Panera, McDonald's very close.
If you use the bathrooms, your opinion will likely be negative. There were 2 bathrooms for a large campground. Toilets are separate. The individual shower room is very small (36X72?). Showers were very dirty with hair and leaves, so much so that I went without rather than do it twice. The first morning, there was no hot water so my husband redressed and headed to bathroom #2. Next morning, I headed to bathroom #2 to find NO hot water. I asked the lady at the desk to have maintenance people look into the problem. For $71, hot water and a clean shower seem reasonable expectations.
The desk and golf cart staffers are lovely, but I do think they need more maintenance people. This is below my expectations for a KOA campground.

Nice location in Mt Pleasant. Friendly people. Good hookups. Good cable selection. Roads are wide enough. Nice nature trail. Nice lake. Quiet and dark at night. Wild turkeys, deer, and water birds may be seen. There’s a bald eagle living on the back of the campground property.

“Read all of the fine print! Not pet friendly if you have a rescue!!”
noted 2/5/2024
I also (someone else posted as well) just got cancelled by them about two hours before check-in because my dog is a rescue and has a small amount of pit bull in his blood. Booooooo. Nothing like searching for a place to stay with a big rig last minute to ruin your day!
