Once arriving here, if you are in any type of RV, I would recommend taking a peek at all of the available sites before choosing one. Most are woefully out of level. And small. Drive in them and see how they suit your needs/tastes. It's worth the effort. The site I chose was so sloped from back to front that a total of 13 Lynx Levelers stacked "Lego" style under the front wheels (10 on the passenger side) was not enough to get me to level.
There are two bath houses which have one shower in each of them. Great showers, large, plenty of pressure and nice hot water. Most sites have nicely secluded sitting areas, many of which are a short way from the parking pad. The Lodge complex across the way is certainly convenient for its grab and go food, restaurant and camp store. It's also a great place to sit out and peruse a beautiful view and be able to surf on the web (which is spotty - at best - in the campground). The Lodge is within easy walking distance from the camp ground and there is actually a short trail from the C Loop which goes to the store.
The campground is adequate for what it is - a decent enough stop from which to hike and otherwise explore the area. Interior roads, while tight, are easy enough to navigate with care. I have a 20 foot truck camper and I wouldn't want to arrive here with anything too much larger than that.
All in all, for 10 bucks it's hard to beat it if you are touring the Blue Ridge area.

Sites are small and many are quite sloped, especially in the RV ring, and the bathrooms are old, Sites are private, lots of rhododendrons. And, best of all, NO MOSQUITOES!!! Flies are minimal, few spiders, and NO TICKS. And, much cooler than Asheville - 10-15 degrees cooler.
We will be coming again.

A16 on the other hand was very unlevel and the fire ring/picnic table were up like 5 stairs. The net is, try to pick your site carefully.
No sites have electric or water, so be prepared to boondock and fill your tanks from spigots in the campground.
If you are looking for cell coverage, get a site near the back of the A loop (A15/16). Anything near the front of the loop I had no signal at all. In general, I could only get a Verizon signal, no AT&T signal except up by the BRP. There is always good wifi at the Inn across the street from the parking lot.

The sites are quite a mix here, with some very unlevel. We did first come first serve and selected site 13 for being fairly level, private feeling and having a whiff of Verizon signal (just enough to get basic work done, some streaming, but not enough upload capacity to video conference).
Most sites don't have much signal at all, best odds are choosing sites at the top of the two RV loops. Great signal is to be found across the street at the lodge and the overlook.

Elevation 5,000 ft! Great hiking nearby, but were socked in with fog at the end of September 2020.
Short walk to Mt. Pisguah Lodge/Restaurant/Camp Store: Coffee, No beer or wine (BOOOOO!)
Great campground on the Blue Ridge Parkway!
Thick vegetation provides privacy between sites.
Would definitely revisit.

We camped in our T@B teardrop trailer and have stayed here on three past occasions as tent campers. The campground is spacious with four camping loops. Loop A is for RVs, Loop B for vans and pop ups, and loops C and D are tent only. There are showers in loops B and C. Like most National Park facilities it is underfunded and has some deferred maintenance but nothing that detracts from a stay. Hiking trails start at the campground, and it is only a few miles to the mountain bike mecca of Brevard. During the day there was some motorcycle noise from the Blue Ridge Parkway but none at night. It was pleasantly cool at 5000 feet and we had the windows open. There are no hookups but there is a dump station at the entrance.
Recommended for those who want a quieter, old-style camping experience.

Stayed here 5/27/2017 to 5/30/2017. Great place to car camp for a night or a few. We had no utilities, but still it was beautiful. Labor day weekend camping was a great way to cool off as it was at least ten degrees colder than the flat lands only 20 miles away.
