Question about Moraine Park Campground

Robert DeBerardinis asked on 12/17/2021

I have a site reserved for Moraine park in Rocky Mountain NP. The site is rated for 27 foot Travel Trailer...but there are some conflicting info as to whether I can back in my trailer in with my truck. Once parked I would move the truck. Any thoughts...site A041? Thanks!

We stayed in the site across the road (A44) and in this section all the site entries are angled from the road and relative easy to maneuver. I don't see why you wouldn't be able to back in with the truck. Just make sure you travel the CG loop road in the correct direction to get the benefit of the angled entry. In your case come straight in the main campground road to the site (don't turn right for the end of the A loop) and you should be all set.

The length/vehicle requirements show it’s okay for a 27 foot trailer, but call the park to confirm both will fit. That said, I camped at A39 and think you should be able to back in your trailer and then park your truck either perpendicular or at an angle at entrance of the site. The site data shows the driveway is 34 feet in length. If you back all the way in, you may even gain a few feet in “overhang” to help fit your truck into the site.

The ranger at campground check-in was VERY familiar with all of the site specifics. I recommend giving them a call for a quick answer to this. From Google: (970) 586-1206
