I stay here when in the area and have always had a very good experience. It can get busy on weekends and holidays so get here early or you may not get a spot. I always look forward to visiting with the wonderful camp host during my visits, and “Priscilla” his Basset Hound is a real sweetheart. Be sure and fill up with water at the RV facility/dump in Bovill ... it is best water in the area by far.

“Bank fishing, tiny lake, waterfowl”

Camping sites are at the end of the road, slightly above lake and without individual lake access. Sites along lake edge appear to be day use, but 3 or 4 trailers were parked there overnight. Sign asks for $10/night, but the camp host was nowhere to be found and there was no place to leave the fee, so we left without paying. There appear to be plenty of trout in the lake, with multiple fishing piers scattered around the lake and all fishers had a string of trout. Extremely quiet, lots of birds and waterfowl. Pit toilets, hand pump has sign “non-potable”. Gravel road for about a mile, very passable but enough washboards to make you go really slow. Our table had fish guts left all over it, didn’t check condition of toilets as we are self contained. Most campgrounds nearby aren’t open yet, so possibly we were there before opening. No campfires sign from May 10 to sometime in October. Most camp sites had picnic tables, grill, fire ring. Sites are all slightly sloping.
