This is the coolest little campground. Water and electric at every site. We decided to stop the same day and when I called the reservation number, they gave me the number of the park visitor center to get booked. 432-557-3479
It was very hot during the day and cold at night. The Cell service was also very spotty.

We had a problem with our trailer fender. It was falling off when we arrived We believe the weight of the fresh water we were carrying damaged the fender on the way up to Monahans from big bend
Ace hardware had all we needed to repair it. Flex guard and reattaching the screws
But our angel was Mr T ( a park maintenance man). We suggested options that would work and he lent us a drill bit extension to work the screws back in. He even was our park history snd geology expert. Visitor center closed because of COVID Bless Mr T

We loved staying at this state park despite it being the worst weather west Texas has seen in years. Beautiful dunes and really neat spaces. The cutest little campground. They had to shut off the water because the temp was in the teens but other than that our stay was great! Great stop for our cross country trip. Didn’t have service in our spot next to a massive dune but we enjoyed being a little off the grid.

Due to the sand we had an electrical issue but they showed up right away to fix it. If you don't like sand you won't like this. It's also a little close to a busy state highway so a bit of noise

Nice and clean bathrooms and showers. It was a great experience something completely different. It’s a must to stay, just remember the oil fields that are close by so you will smell sulfur can be strong at times. It’s a great place for the whole family

Cell service note: At the visitors center parking lot near the front, there is great cell service from Verizon, but basically nothing from the campsites. Occasionally had some 3G but almost nothing.

Such a find. Our family loved the stop over here at the dunes. It’s super convenient from the i20 yet feels a million miles away. Great TSP service too.

This was a two night stopover on our way to southern Arizona. Neat sandhills, fairly small area of the dunes you'd expect, but fun enough to play in especially with a 5 and 7 year old. Definitely a good stop along I20.

Word of warning: if you're longer than 16 feet you will need a pull thru spot. All the staff on site were friendly and helpful; they drove around frequently and things felt very safe. Bathrooms are typical Texas state park bathrooms, gets the job done. Highly recommend stopping here for the fun! But bring a vacuum for all the sand!
To get Verizon or T-mobile you will have to climb to the top of a sand dune... You won't get anything at your site.
