My husband has to work while we are camping. How is cell phone coverage in Mohawk Trail State Forest? Thanks!

We stayed here for 2 weeknights. It was pretty quiet. The site was a good size for a tent and parking for one vehicle. We were up the hill away from the water. Next time would get a spot by the river. There is a little road noise but not too bad.

The bathrooms were clean and easy to access. Is the camp were completely full I imagine the bathrooms would be busy. The showers were hot. The staff was very helpful answering questions and ensuring we had what we needed.

The fee is higher for out of state. There is almost no cell reception.

There are easily accessible hiking trails in the park and many a short drive away.

Really enjoy sitting and playing in the river. When we were there the designated swimming area wasn’t set up for swimming.

We really loved this place - perhaps more bc we'd been kicking around New England for two weeks before campgrounds finally started to open in the spring. Staff was great, check in smooth. Can't bring your own firewood but they sell it, plus we could gather it. Some places to get supplies on the way. Some hikes from the campground - some very steep. Close to the main road but the river drowns it out. Lots of trees for the hammock. Showers only seemed to be in one loop but bathrooms good/clean. No cell service to speak of but for the occasional bar that lets texts get through. Some spring gnats flying around - NBD. Moon and stars - yes!

closed for the 2023 summer season, expected reopening in November 2023

Mohawk Trail State Forest Campground Closed for Summer Season
DCR has closed the campground at Mohawk Trail SF to accommodate necessary repairs and improvements to the water system and infrastructure of the campground.
The work, which includes installing, connecting and testing a new well and waterlines, replacing building roofs and making repairs to Civilian Conservation Corps-era (CCC) cabins, is expected to take 10 weeks with the goal of reopening in November for the winter camping season. The day-use areas of the park including activities like hiking, swimming, fishing, picnicking, satellite sites and interpretive services will remain open and run as planned.
