On the surface, this old KOA turned county park looks like a nice place. Full hook ups, cheap laundry, the marina, nature walk, fishing pond, pool, etc. are all nice amenities. Cell service was good too. What could be wrong?

Well, the place is near the freeway so there's road noise but it's not anything you can't get used to. It's also full of permanent residents (it's a county park with a monthly rate of $264 so it's going to attract long term residents). Just the normal issues like everyone leaving to go to work in their diesel pickups at 6 am, not to mention the trailer park vibe.

But it's the weird rules that really turned us off. No credit or debit cards taken. Just cash or checks. Plus, they require a $40 cash only deposit they get nitpicky about returning. Plus no alcohol or firearms allowed, though they never asked about either. For a few nights and for $20 a night, it's okay but you can do better and be closer to Mobile too.
