We stayed here in mid-March of 2023. We had site #55 for the weekend, then moved to #73 for 4 nights. #55 had it's own little deck and we could see the water, but it was in the center of one of the loops. Loop with sites 1-23: some very cool ones out on the point - 11, 12 & 13. They are closer to each other than some of the others. #31 was cool, but again some of those are a bit close to each other. #36 is a big long pull thru & 38 is kind of by itself. #39-41 were getting some good wind! #49 is great (but some wind) and 48 was nice.
On the left loop: #67 is more in the forest. #73 has great "deck" and little beach. We were told no alligators here, so tied our Labrador to a tree so she could get wet. #79 & 80 are both nice too! 89-93 are more in the forest.
Laundry was great to have - the trails are really nice - I did about 5 miles one day.
This was a great stay - lovely park! When I have better internet, will come back & add some photos.

We had only a water/ electric service but it was only 150 ft from the nearest bathhouse. Cleaned at least each day if not twice. Good number of stalls and showers for both women and men.
Our site had a little deck that my wife did her yoga on each morning as the son rose behind us. Sunsets were in our camp and felt great. The birds enthusiastically woke us each day. Geese were our companions - nice ones. Right on the shore, we had a small secluded beach to ourselves. Sites are spaced well apart. I don’t know if this would be a great spot for us in July or August but fall and early spring would be fantastic.

We visited the park in mid-September. Although it was a weekend, it was calm and not too many people around. The lake is absolutely awesome and so are the sites that are right over it. We got very lucky with a pull through site right over the lake that even had a viewing platform. Sites 67 through 93 are definitely the best ones in terms of privacy and distance between the spots. The lower numbered sites look like fun for groups, but are definitely on top of each other. Finally, and importantly, the ant problem is real. We had read reviews talking about this and despite taking several precautions, after going for a day hike, we returned to a camper trailer covered in ants inside and out. This was despite the fact that all of our food is in vacuum sealed containers and there was nothing out. They are exploratory ants. I will never again forget Diatomaceous Earth to prevent ants. We would definitely come back though.

Our site was at the end of the loop on the point. It is a two level site. The fire pit and picnic table are on the lower level. Backing in, our toy hauler is 28', was really easy. If you have a big rig and there are vehicles in the loop you may have to ask them to move when you are backing or when you want to leave. With the picnic table on the lower level our awing did not cover the picnic table but for us it was not a big deal. The trees provided us with enough shade and it was a bit chilly so the sun felt good. If it is really hot the picnic table is in the full sun so it might be uncomfortable. The wind was out of the North so our rig blocked most of it. The edge of the lake was rocky but there is a beach at the end of the loop so it was easy to launch our kayaks. We could not see the site on the right and there was not a site to our left so we were a bit isolated which was good. this is a great site with an awesome view of the lake. We will get this site again if we can.

We loved disconnecting from city life, and sitting by the lake. The campground is far enough out of town, but also close enough if you need anything. It was so quite and relaxing!

Spent 5 nights here while volunteering for the GA senate runoff.
Site was beautiful and enjoyed both electric and water hookups so we could run space heater or furnace. Unique Grey water dump at many sites is a type of stone filled pit with topsoil and wood frame boundary. Nice to be this remote and still shower without worry of filling Grey water tank.
As others stated, table is concrete and not moveable. Fire ring not much use with winds off the lake the first night.
In our January stay park was 50% occupied our first night on Saturday Jan 3rd and only 10% occupied after that.
No HP restrictions on the lake, so it could get noisy with boats in the summer.

First visit here to work remotely the week of July 5th- best WIFI of any state park thus far. We arrived after the office had closed so we were able to go directly to our site. Lovely shaded site that sat adjacent to the lake - we had a slight view through the trees but it was lovely. We also had a small path right down to the lake so we were easily able to launch our kayak. Most of the sites are on the lake with nice views. Ours was pretty level with a bit to do side to side but nothing terrible. Large living area with fire ring behind the rig and a living area with table next to the RV pad. Only drawback was the table was concrete to no moving it around but it made for a nice office space. Our loop (#1-23) was pretty quiet. Loop #24-45 was busier with less space in btwn sites and more families with children. If you really want a quite area loop #67 - 93 seem to have the most space in between and very quiet. Camp hosts were very nice as was park staff. Bathrooms were pretty clean in our loop; the bathhouse for 24-45 was newer and even had a lending library. There is a boat launch and a couple small beach areas. Lake was lovely although it was already a bit warm.
Unfortunately this was our first time experiencing ants and while they were all over our RV, few made it inside. An emergency trip to WalMart for ant traps help to mitigate a disaster so come prepared with Borax or ant traps. We didn't explore the area outside of the park other than going to WalMart.
All in all a lovely park and while we tried to extend our stay, they were booked solid. We'll be back.

This was a great stay! I think this might have become a new favorite state park of mine in Georgia. Site 10 is right on the water. It was nice to be right at the edge of the lake (couldn't walk in right there though because of the rock edge and it was slightly deep). Just a few steps away though is a peninsula that has a small beach type area. I enjoyed 2 full days of sitting on my chair in the water reading my book. It was very relaxing. Site 10 is a little unique as it is 2 levels, which made it nice. If you have a size-able unit you will have to take caution backing in, and if there are cars parked in the turn around area you might have to have people move them, I did. When leaving I had to ask another person to move, as getting out I did have to pull out and use the full circle, and even back up to get out (with a TT or FW it wont' be as much of a problem). With the 2 levels, next time I am going to get the items out of the storage bays I need and will get even closer to the railing, as my awning provided decent shade for parts of the day over the lower area of the site. Going down the road into the site area, if you tow a dinghy i highly suggest that you disconnect once you arrive prior to going to your site, I had to because I needed to swing into the dump station to empty the gray tank after a few days of dry camping prior to arriving, and coming in needed to do a 3 point turn. When leaving by the time i got to the dump station I had the car hooked up and was able to go through no problem. When leaving this section you will also have to not have your car hooked up, as it is a narrow turn out, I took a right and went down and around another section, I wouldn't have made it to try a left hand turn. I say all of this not to scare but to make aware. I am probably one of the few people that will take a big rig into tight places, but I love to find these sites, and tight spaces don't really scare me. The park has a ton of lake front sites, there are 2 boat ramps in the state park. The lake is great for boating and/or jet skiing, tubing, etc. Sites are as you expect, fairly level (site 10 i just had to active the jacks just enough to put weight on them, no boards needed and excessive jacking not required), gravel, water hook-up and 30 amp service (camp ground does have some full hook-ups and some 50amp but their location isn't as nice as those without). I can't wait to go back to this campground, jet skis in tow!
