I travelled here with a 35’ 5th wheel and long bed pickup. I ended up only staying here one night because I booked a site that ended up being too small for my trailer and with the narrowness of the road and the angle off of it, I could not get into it. When you book the park, look at the site dimensions very carefully and then subtract several feet because they have concrete bumpers that shorten up the total amount of space you have. In addition, in many sites, trees were very close to the end of the asphalt. The area is very shaded and lots of trees gives each site some nice privacy. I did not check out the restrooms since I wasn’t staying long. Sean (the ranger) really went above and beyond to find me a site (A41) at the last minute which was easy to back into. As I mentioned, the road is pretty narrow so you have to go slow around the curves. I know other people who had to go out and come back in the loop the opposite direction to get into their sites. That being said, I would definitely go back if I was in the area since it was a very pretty park and the rangers were so helpful.

The campground is small with a single RV loop, but the park itself is huge. The campsite driveways are paved, with most having electricity and water. There is also a small separate section for tents only. Each site is surrounded by lots of trees and shrubbery. The park has lots of trails great for running and hiking, just watch out for horses since this can be a favorite spot for horseback riding. Being along the river gives both kayakers and inner tubers a chance to enjoy the water. Above the dam, referred to as Estacada Lake, is perfect for paddling, but be aware that the water is COLD even in the middle of summer. Below the dam you’ll find small rapids to lazily inner tube down. The disc golf course towards the front of the park is large and used by many. You can also find a fish hatchery within the park.

Voltage at both of my sites, on opposite ends of the park, was dangerously low. Running even a couple amps would send it well below 110 to the point that my surge protector would cut power. I basically had to operate as if I was boondocking. $26/night (plus reservation fee) isn't terrible for dry camping, but it's a bummer when you expect power and can't use it. Good At&t signal, slow Verizon.

This site #39 is very private for an RV campground but we will be switching our favorite site to #40. This one is a tricky one to get into and you need good backing skills. We have a 28’ travel trailer. If you are looking for a big rig site, #40 will handle anything and is much easier to back in and just as private. This campground is a 20 minute drive off of I205 exit 13 with typical two lane country roads.

The outside loop sites have larger parking pads than the inside ones so keep this in mind if towing a trailer. I loved the miles of hiking trails and my only regret were trails were hiking or horse riding but no mountain biking. I understand the reasoning but wish a few could be designated for bikes. The lake has kayak rentals but I did not check out the prices.

All of the trails are open for hiking though, just be aware, on the weekends, there are a TON of horseback riders.
The sites are nice sized, all come with table and fire ring, and all are electric and water hookups. There are also a few tent sites that don't have hookups. They also have a hike/bike area for those that come on foot or bikes. It is a nice little area, secluded from the rest of the site. They even have plugins for you to charge things up if needed back there.
I still refrain from 5 for site quality, because I can see my neighbors. And while my pad was fine, a few of them are kind of beat up.
Connections: Sprint is useless. It fluctuates from nothing to 3g at best. Verion gets 4g two bars, and my hotspot averaged over the week 5 mpbs down, and 2 up, which was plenty for me to work 8 hours a day!
