Overall Rating

This state park is just off Lake Mille Lacs. The campground is not on the lake, however. The park is wooded with hardwoods and some pines. There are numerous hiking trails. The bathing beach is not near the campground. The Visitor's Center is currently on very restricted hours.

Some of the Petaga Campground sites have electricity. There are flush toilets and showers. Most of the sites look fairly level but the one we had (#42e) sloped toward the access road and away from the drivers side. The sites are well separated by trees and brush giving lots of privacy.
