For our preference as seniors we wouldn't come here to stay more than an overnight.

Price reflects National Senior Pass. Sites have water and electric but not all work around this park. I had another site booked which had the electric broken for months but was allowed to book it online. We got there and there was only one site still open that weekend. We got the site no one else wanted. :( All other open sites had maintenance problems. The weekend was totally full because of a fishing tournament then all checked out on Sunday so only 10 campers for the week! We had a level site with view of the lake. Quite campground after the weekend parties. We had Verizon cell and hot spot service. Close to Jasper, TX for market, laundromat (dirty, expensive), a few restaurants. TX doesn't seem to do very well with their COE parks, which is sad because we stay at them all over this country and they are usually awesome with wonderful volunteer and employees!

The sites can be very level, or very broken asphalt, or very sloped. Sites can be in the shade or full sun.
We would give the park a 5 if it had sewer at each site but it does have an easy to access dump station.
The attendant says the campground will be packed for the weekend. We will leave Friday to avoid the crowds.

We came here based on the reports of bad cellular signal (because we test this stuff for a living). Unfortunately, things have changed since the last review - and we had GREAT signal on both AT&T and Verizon.
So bad site for signal testing - and we had to put up with panoramic water views instead of working.
Actually, the site we originally booked was seriously unlevel - like many in E-Loop. So we switched to 25 which is on the peninsula end. It was much more level and had great views all around.
This campground is quite dated and needs some serious modernization and leveling of sites. So many on our Loop were unusable for today's RV.
It was quite lovely with the lake views.. but not anything to do here if you don't have a boat. No trails. No local stuff to explore. And no bad cell signals optimize for.
But we enjoyed our stay, and used it as a place to recharge during a hectic cross country run.

Place was maintained nicely. Campsites are roomy and generally shaded.
CONS:
No over the air TV
Verizon cell service nonexistent
Grass has many small cocklebur stickers which our small dogs carried into RV.
We left early due to lack of Verizon cell service.

Beautifully maintained older Corps of Engineer park. Everything was mowed and clean. Camp host/staff were extremely friendly and welcoming! All sites were paved, but some sites were narrow and unlevel. Ours needed to be repaved. 30 or 50 amp service w/ water at site. 2 dumpstations. Most sites had extra parking at site. Park was very well laid out - camping around outside on lake shore with green space, bathhouses and playgrounds in the middle. 100 sites - 50% of campsites were water front with fantastic views. Great spacing between sites. If you love to fish this is the place for you. Very busy boat ramp, but ramp is separated from camping - which was great. Several campers had their boats anchored on shore right next to their campsites. We will come back - Great find!!
