“Only really 1 site now”

Reviewed May 04, 2018

Overall Rating

Stopped in here on April 26 2018 but didn't actually stay. There is still one clear site on the right just after turning into the area, but it doesn't seem that the local property owners appreciate the sites further up the road being used. A fresh-looking sign (metal was still bright, no rust) "No Camping Beyond This Point" sign had be... more

“Perfect Boondocking for Carlsbad Caverns. Can be very windy!”

Reviewed Apr 26, 2018

Overall Rating

This is a perfect boondocking location for a visit to Carlsbad Caverns. Only a couple of miles down the road from White's City and the National Park entrance. If you need fuel, groceries, laundry, etc. its a easy 20 mile drive into the town of Carlsbad for "normal" prices. We boondocked at Mile 10 Dispersed for 4 nights and although cl... more

“Super place between Guadelupe and the caverns.”

Reviewed Apr 17, 2018

Overall Rating

We found out the campground at Guadelupe NP had no hookups and the campgrounds in Carlsbad are not for free.
So why not dry camp at no costs at BLM-land.
Nice place not far from the 62/180.

You also can stay the night at the rest area close to Guadelupe.

“Great views, very quiet”

Reviewed Jan 07, 2018

Overall Rating

There are actually several BLM roads west of Carlsbad Caverns on 180 on the left, just past the road to Rattlesnake Springs on the right. We camped on the second road, not rough at all, and explored the third which was also very driveable. Lots of rabbits, coyotes singing, spectacular sunsets, views into the Guadalupe Mountains, and ... more

“Excellent BLM site near Carlsbad Caverns”

Reviewed Dec 19, 2017

Overall Rating

We truly enjoyed our time at this BLM campsite and there are plenty of other sites on this road. We also enjoyed hiking around this area as there is a ton to see and explore. This is very private with great 4G signal and only ever had 1 person drive by on the road. Most sites are far enough away from the highway that the noise is ve... more
