The slight road down to the campsite was quite rutted and full of water (but not too deep). Do not be discouraged of the sites taken right on the water. It is quite crowded on a Friday during the summer but with very few free campsites in the area, I kept driving to the right and found a nice spot with a view of the lake (and not of the somewhat of an eyesore of the bridge). I am pretty close to my neighbor, but there is plenty of foliage to give you some privacy. Also being away from the main beach area, it was quite peaceful.
There are outhouses. Did not check out the cleanliness. No trash or water (though if necessary, you can filter the river water). WiFi was 2 bars of Verizon and decent coverage.

This place was a great stay!! So pretty by the river! However there were some mosquitos/waterbugs but ya know it’s by a river! The road looks sketchy to drive down but in our truck with 4 wheel drive it was easy breezy!

This is a nice spot on the river. On a Saturday night in late July it was very crowded. Even with all the vehicles it was quiet and comfortable.

This is an amazing spot to camp but if you damage your rig getting in, it's the most expensive night of camping you will enjoy...
The way this road is today, you need high clearance on your rig....

Camped with 28 ft airstream on rocky shore. Couple of areas - beach in front of river, further away from main road/bridge is additional tent sites. Lots of rafting activity during day but generally very quiet at night. Entrance is rough for 200 yards but proceed slow …. Cell service on AT&T seems great!

The road down to the shore isn’t nearly as bad it looks. Keep left for the easiest way down. Maybe not for big rigs but any car/truck/van ought to be fine. Tons of room on the gravel with a beautiful sunrise view. Very fun area, super close to west glacier.

We didn’t actually stay here but we spent a beautiful afternoon playing in the river. The road is pretty rough- I would recommend NO 5TH WHEELS of any size (road has lots of big bumps that would make your trailer hit your truck). Could do ok maybe with a very small bumper pull, the higher clearance the better (there was one pop up tent camper when we were there) otherwise only vans and truck campers. Large rocks on the shore so be sure you have good traction but we didn’t need 4 wheel drive. Water is so clear and pretty fast in the middle but had slower parts on the sides so we could have our dog swim with no problem.
If we had a van we would be here in a heartbeat! Fisherman were there all day, as were raft pickups for those going down the river with a group.

“Closed. ”
noted 5/18/2024
Seems this spot is closed until at least June due to water levels. High fines if closure is not obeyed—drove about 15 mins away to a different site
“Still closed ”
noted 7/16/2022
Closure seems permanent. The neighbors are suing the FS. Go camp at North Fork Dispersed. It's close by.
