The campsites are well maintained, flat and pretty large. There are washrooms onsite and a place to wash your dishes.
The only downside was that it was really windy the day we were there, not much in the way to block the wind but we still had a great night and I would stay here again.

This is our favorite cg in Death Valley. It is not like the parking lot campgrounds near the visitor centers. Mesquite Springs is along a giant wash that was fun to explore and very close to Ubehebe Crater that has a great rim hike. It is quiet and dark.

The rate reflects the half price senior park pass. Mesquite Spring campground is 2 miles down hill almost into the wash. The roads are paved and the sites are gravel and well spaced, but not terribly level. Very dark at night - the stars are amazing. This is a great jumping off point to go to the Racetrack. Heed the park advice and start out in the morning. It took us 2 hours to drive each way. Also, as Scotty's castle is closed right now, there is very little traffic on the roads in the northern part of the park so it is a great place to ride a bike! No cell service.
