Beautiful meadow right outside your window. Just a large
Parking lot but no one to bother you and just enjoy nature. Outstanding night sky viewing too. 1 hour from Alamogordo.

Overall Rating
I called ahead and they confirmed they have $20 dry camping, first come first served. We figured this time of year it shouldn't be a problem, and it wasn't. Perfect for what we needed. Just a big parking lot, but rimmed with pine trees and deer. Road noise died down at night. Good proximity to Ruidoso. It's too bad it's not maintained - lots of trash around the edge of the parking lot and huge weeds. Wild horses in the area, we didn't see any here but lots of evidence of them passing through this parking lot - watch your step.
