Mesa Verde was a great experience for us.

Staff was awesome and the campground is nice and clean.
BUT
I would never stay in site #5 (Premium Back in) again
Site #5 is at the top of the hill and it is shady and fairly secluded and we liked that but it borders an tall wooden fence and on the other side of that fence is the neighbors horse pen with the usual feed, droppings and hay.
While we were there we killed 3 mice in our RV and we assumed they came from the horse pen.
All the other sites are real nice and we would stay again.

We went to dinner in Mancos one night. WIFI worked well and cell coverage was pretty good also.

The sites are nice and big. The employees are very friendly. It's peaceful and quiet. Very close to Mesa Verde National Park. They do have free wifi, which is great because none of our other options are working, even boosted. We have AT&T & Verizon hotspots and our phones are through T-Mobile. The campground wifi, while not super fast, it is usable for basic surfing and occasional streaming. If we were just out here on vacation, it would be great. But since we are needing internet for work, this isn't a great option. Oh, and there's an additional charge for kids. It's $3.50 per child, per day. Which I know a lot of campgrounds do, but it's worth mentioning since it adds to the total cost.

Nice campground, lots of shade trees, a bit too much highway noise though, but that's the price for the convenient location. We didn't go into the bathrooms, but the laundry room was nice and clean, and appreciate that it's open 24 hours. We were in space 55, and it was not at all level side to side.

Adorable small campground with everything you need - 1/4 mile from Mesa Verde entrance, heated pool, 2 hot tubs, clean laundry room with 5(?) washers and dryers and tables and chairs to sit - used all of the above and everything very clean and well maintained. Was in a “premium site” which was large shady and level - def worth the extra few dollars. Pull thrus across the way also very spacious. Excellent wifi and decent cell signals. Sad to leave!!!

Our 45’ Motorhome wouldn’t have made it to Durango because of parking so I’m glad we took the car. Took two tours at Mesa Verde, Balcony and Cliff House, which we’re awesome and you can do in one day. If possible, go to the tourist office and buy your tickets in advance. Not necessary but it’ll help choose your specific time.

We enjoyed our stay here and the convenience of this location. This is a very nice park- but don't confuse it with one of those big fancy RV Resorts. This is a small and simple park that is well run, friendly and clean. The park is right on the road and you can hear the road- but it doesn't bother me (I like the white noise.) There are plenty of amenities (not fancy) but all nice and clean. There is a pool, a couple hot tubs, a playground, dog park, showers and a nice laundry room. The sites are pretty close together, but I have stayed places that were even closer. For a few nights it was fine. We were in a partial hook up site (electric and water) which was on the perimeter of the park which we preferred. The people checking us in were super friendly and accommodating. There is a basic little store by the check in and they have a ton of tourist information available there too.
All in all we had a great stay and would happily stay again if in the area.
