What a great spot. Lots of scenic trails, rolling hills and the history of this park is incredible. Be mindful that there are no hook ups here, but there’s no fee for camping. If you’re in the area, stay here. I think you’ll like it as well. .

This is considered the best of the 3 RV campgrounds along the Natchez Trace. It is the northernmost campground on the Trace. The sites are not numbered. Regardless what you read, there was no camphost when we were there. I spoke the the attendants, checking the restroom, and they told me that they are having trouble finding a camphost. All sites are Boondocking or Dry Camping, except for the Camphost spot. A camphost would get full hookups. First come, first serve, just come in and pick whatever open spot you can find. You may see a Ranger drive through, if you stay enough days, and you may not.
Amenities: Restrooms. They have a place to plug in an electric shaver.
There is a water spigot near the restroom. You can hook a hose to it to refill your fresh water tank.
Plenty of trails.
It is quiet.
Hohenwald is a very short distance away. They have a Walmart, a TSC where we got more propane, and there were a number of filing stations selling Ethanol Free Gas for our generator.
We stayed a week, and met a surprising number of people from Europe and Canada, traveling through.

This location is so quiet. Typical campgrounds have lots of kids running around making tons of noise, dogs barking all night…not this place. It was perfect for two night of boondocking. We have hiked here and the trails are beautiful. And it’s free!

Access is easy, all paved from the parkway. It's tucked back in a bit so no road noise. Plenty of trees for shade to keep things cool. There are pull in sites and back-ins. Each site is numbered. Plenty of space in between sites. A great stopover (like us for a couple of days) or even longer. (I would come back and stay longer to explore up and down the Natchez Trail with our tow vehicle.)
Highly recommend this spot. It was quiet. A couple of generators going here and there but overall quiet and a nice spot that is free. This is our second spot on the Natchez Trail parkway and this one is my favorite of the two (the other was Jeff Busby - see my review of that one).
We had cell service in the campground area with AT&T, on the trails and other parts - no signal.

Nice spot in the woods for a couple nights of free camping. Flush toilets and water spigots on property. Close to town as well. Only cons are lack of cell signal and noticed a lot of ticks.

This campsite is beautiful! Clean bathrooms, amazing trails, and I felt very safe! Get there before noon and you’ll have no trouble finding a spot. If you come in at night, a lot of sites are full.

This was a very clean campground. It was almost full, but the camp sites were spread out so we had plenty of room. We parked away from the bathroom, so we used our own bathroom during the night. Our fur babies loved it too! No bugs. Awesome sun coming through the trees. Beautiful! 10.19.21

Nice spot tucked away in the woods. Short pull through a and back in spots. bathrooms are at the far end of the campground.
30-35 sites. Fire pits and picnic tables at all sites.
We were told the ticks can be pretty bad in the area so be aware and do checks when going back inside.
