The sites were on top of each other with black hoses set up to were when the got out of your trailer your neighbors black hose hook up was pretty much on your site. This is the first site where I am going to complain about dogs Theodore Roosevelt National park is not a dog friendly park dogs are not allowed out of your car in the national park so many people while I was there left their dogs in the trailers including our neighbors every time we walked around we had dogs barking thru trailer windows at us and dogs were barking everywhere. I am sure most day dogs are not a problem but while I was there it was

Walked in on a very busy weekend and they were courteous and found an opening for me. They were cleaning the restrooms and showers on an ongoing basis due to Covid-19. Sites are extremely close together throughout most of the park. Sites are all fairly level and noise from the highways was not bothersome.

If you want a campground close to downtown Medora, Theodore Roosevelt NP and Medora Musical, this is your park. We were in site 160 which is a level long full-hookup site with gravel pads. Unfortunately, the sites are extremely close together and our hookups were right next to the neighbor’s picnic table - yuck! No OTA signal/channels. With AT&T, we had 3 bars with good speed and our hotspot provided reliable strength for streaming. There are multiple trains that travel the tracks just outside the campground, but they don’t blow their horns (white noise)! It was expensive for being a city park.

We used this as a stopping place on our way home from Yellowstone. It served this purpose but that was about it. Not kept up, sites were very small and the staff was not very accommodating. It has a good location to the South entrance of Theodore Roosevelt National Park which is its best feature.

Sites were right on top of each other ( we have a small 13 ft camper so you know it’s bad when we feel squeezed). Guys in office not terribly helpful. Note: there is NO camp host so if you have issues after office hours like we did-you are on your own because they don’t answer the phone!! Bathrooms were adequate. Showers flooded-gross. Dirt roads and pads. Quiet hours posted but not enforced. You don’t reserve a particular site; they tell you when checking in what site you have. Easy walk to town. Views are good if in first 2 rows. Will not return.

Yes, we would camp here again but would be very selective on our site. We had 142 which is a pull-thru FHU. The sites are TIGHT!!! Out of basic human courtesy to my neighbors I did not connect my dump hose until the very last minute. For the same reason, we chose not to sit outside our site at all. The image I am attaching says it all. My dump connection in relation to our neighbors picnic table. If we return we will call and ask 1st about site selection/availability.

Stayed here based on previous review. Although the distance isn’t far to the musical, it is not walkable like they said! No shuttles due to covid, either. So we checked in & drove our rv to the musical so our dog could be let out between dinner & show.
The site served its purpose for sleeping, showers were spacious & ok.

We’ve stayed here several times, and it’s always good enough for our purposes. Yes, the sites are super small and campers can feel crammed on top of each other. But if you’re spending your day in Theodore Roosevelt National Park and just using this as a base camp, it should be fine.
Many people use this as an overnight stopping point while crossing the Dakotas, and it works well for that, too, as it has easy access to I-94.
Bathrooms are decent. Some ok amenities, but again, the real benefit of this park is its proximity to the entrance of TRNP, which is probably a half mile from the campground.
The only issue we’ve ever had here is we booked our vacation with another family and called twice to confirm that we were reserved in spots next to each other. Both calls confirmed we were and of course when we arrived, we were two rows apart from each other. The camp office blamed it on the reservation staff (the city of Medora and local hotel) which books over the phone and “doesn’t know how things work here at the campground.” Be diligent about that if it’s important to you.
All in all, would recommend this campground.

But, if like us, you use the camper more like a hotel - a place to sleep and unwind, but not spend much time, it’s great. It’s walking distance to everything. The property is gorgeous, nestled among the buttes, along the river. The sites are tiny, but we don’t need a big yard.

We have a small squaredrop trailer so I booked a short site with 20amp service. It turned out to be sloped and very narrow. We put off using our 8' awning because it would have reached the edge of the next site. The facilities were pretty good and the staff we meet were nice but there is no privacy here with how crowded the sites are.
