First, the road in cannot be glossed over. If you have any vehicle accident trauma, or if cliff edges freak you out, maybe don't come here. It wasn't busy at all. The house on site is....interesting. There's like 2 houses with a few RVs but I never saw an actual person - a bit weird if you're alone but no one bugged me. Overall it was lovely.

Big rig friendly. Right next to the Deschutes River. Great trout fishing right off the campground.

The campground is beautiful.. I believe I saw 2 pull thrus and the back in sites were spacious..
Only challenge was getting there... the road off the main road is a single lane long dirt road.. pretty bumpy and dangerous when towing a big rig.

A really quiet and peaceful campground, despite being about three quarters full. The pit toilet was a bit of a mess but tolerable.
The cost is misreported. Actual camping fees are: $8.00 weekdays, $12.00 weekends, with weekend rates applying June 1 through September 15.

I stopped here on a whim and almost turned around halfway down mecca Flat road due to the condition of the road. It's bad. Once I did get here, the campsite was nicely set against the river with large spaces, and one primitive toilet. Most of the sites are back in, with two pull through sites for larger rigs.

Road in single lane and dirt but not bad. Busier than expected for a Monday. 20-30 dories with fisherman going down the Deschutes River. Boat ramp in good condition. I used my paddle board and took a 2 hour ride down the river getting out at Trout Campground, approximately 8 miles. The river is running at about. 5 miles/hour. My partner picked me up as the cost for a ride back was $55 per person.
Today we are taking out sea kayaks down the river. Class 1 and 2 whitewater. My partner is dropping off the truck at the outtake and riding his mountain bike back along a bike/hike path all along the river. Nice hike which we did.
The negative not well maintained landscape, no drinking water and no shade. Great for our solar. Tons of goats heads which can be picked up by your pup.
$8 weekdays $12 weekends. Trash was picked up

Dirt single lane road but no big rocks or obstacles. Busier than expected for a Monday. Would be good for anglers.
One abandoned class A that looked sketchy with a flat tire, broken door and compartments.
Cost $8 weekdays $12 weekends. We paid $4 with our senior pass.
Very quiet.

{someday congress might return to funding Parks & Public Lands}
As noted road in rough, all vehicles seem to drive it at 10 12 MPH. Much of road was a railroad grade from the 1800's . . . fun to drive.
