Nice drive in and easy to pull through. They could use larger numbers on the spaces as we came in after dark and could not see the numbers. BUT, we had so much room compared to other parks. Check in was easy. The manager left our instructions by the office door since we came in late. The manger, Brandon, greeted us the next morning and ask if we needed anything. My experience with management was excellent. Park is quiet and clean. Good cell signal for T Mobile and Verizon. Water pressure is excellent. Picnic table at every space. The spaces are huge and nicely manicured lawn. We towed a street legal plated UTV for exploring the gorgeous mountain ranges. We had to take a risk driving up Buckhorn Road to friend's ranch and we spent the day exploring some of Colorado's most gorgeous backcountry. I recommend taking Buckhorn Road up to Buckhorn Lakes. Bring your fly rod. We enjoyed our stay enough to book an additional day.

The still shove 4 pages of rules that the dont enforce to you complain a little about the water logged rv sites all wet under crappy gravel base so your jacks sink 12 inches into water. The heathen kids allowed to run all over thw place way past 10 pm screaming, throwing sticks, throwing rocks .the other trashy customers with 10 young kids in a dump of a trailer, no schooling for these uneducated terroist. Not just in their site, no all over every odies site under my 45 american eagle. I could go on and on. Ending after 4 threats of violence from parents and trailer is trash manager is no better. How charges $400 deposit for security for a rv site?? Who put in 4 pages of rules with 4 statements of no cannabis no possession oh there so scared of someone blowing a doobie but pulling guns on customers is ok. The trash car washer friend bumming out there is the one to threaten you with a pistol because my 60,000 lb 5 axel coach towing kick up a little dust on his whatever. I had to call police and 5 cars showed up because they no this dump well. If you have a nice coach and want peace and politeness dont go here. Wish I could say more but I'm dang mad.so cops let them keep my mail to return to sender ( fine service) even after manager said that was good and he would bring mail out street to me.
Same threats of jail, same mistreatment of customers, same trashy residents means same damn people running it, the owner had cops threaten me with tresspassing even though I was moved way out of park on public road and new owner did this. You'll be sorry

We're the couple that was kicked of this place under the sheriff's supervision last August for the crime of receiving a package. We went a bit viral, and we're the star rating for this place is so low. Many people were reviewing in support of us, and have never stayed here. Other reviews are legit about the old angry manager and dilapidated condition of this place. Anyway, when we heard the resort was under new ownership, we decided to give it another chance on our return to Montrose. WHAT. A. DIFFERENCE. The new staff is incredibly kind and accommodating. They are actually watering the grass and keeping the place clean. THEY ACCEPT PACKAGES! It's a work in progress, as the old owners really let this place go, but this is a great place to stay when visiting this awesome area, especially if you have a big rig and don't want to drive it down into Ouray. The wifi is good, the bathhouse is clean, and the pull-thru sites are massive. They gave us a tour of their future plans, and suffice it to say, this is going to be an epic place when they are done. Ignore the star rating and give the new owners a chance. They deserve it.

Unfortunately this campsite is ruined by management and/or owners that do not understand RVers nor their needs, plus it would appear there could be psychological instability added to the mix which makes for a bad combination when one is looking for a peaceful place to stay for a few days. My stay here was not pleasant, and based on what others at the campsite told me I was very scared to be kicked out for any reason whatsoever, including the manager just having a bad day. With this level of unpredictability I decided to take my chances elsewhere, I suggest you do the same.

Do not stay here. They are jerks about people who stay there. They should go out of business. They don’t respect their customers and lie about their copy’s rules. You will regret staying there. For the sake of your family, don’t waste your money or time.

This is going to sound like one of those things that has "more to the story," but I swear this is true. We were kicked out, under police supervision, for breaking a rule as simple as getting a package. I should have asked before having a package sent, that's on me. But their reaction was absurd. They rejected the delivery from the FedEx driver, who left the park and called me to tell me he'd be happy to give me the package outside the gate. So I went and got it. Next thing I know, I get an email telling me that we must leave by 1pm the next day with no refund and that the police will be called if necessary. I went to nicely talk to the manager about the situation, and he started lying about how we were read the rules twice and he was standing next to us. We weren't. In fact they brought the rules by after we had set up camp because they forgot to give them to us. Not that it matters, they were 3 pages, and the "mail" rule is in the long-term stay section which I didn't read since we were only to stay for 6 nights. I have no issue with the rule or them rejecting the package, but as soon as I started trying to reason with the manger Tom, he called the police on me and our neighbor who was defending us. We were made to leave immediately with police officers wasting their time standing at the end of our site in front of our kids. Another camper who had been there for a few weeks said this was the third time someone was escorted out by the police in a month. Not only that, the pool was not open as advertised, nor were really any other amenities. This park has changed names several times recently, and apparently has either dropped or lost its Jellystone affiliation. It is now called Montrose-San Juan RV Resort. Many more terrible reviews on Yelp and their Facebook page. Also, their website says "under new management." Do not fall for this. The ownership may have changed, but it's been operated by the same guy for a very long time.

They refused to allow us to receive mail here. Who does that to full-timers? My girls sent Mother’s Day cards and the park returned them!!! 😡 We rely on amazon for health shipments and this has been horrible trying to work with the mean office lady. Also, when you run a park just being NICE would help. Far more people pulling out than coming in.

It should have been a heads up when I had to pay in advance a $50 non refundable deposit when I made the reservation. We have previously stayed at Jellystone parks and had good experiences and some of the other nearby parks were not available so I made the reservations for 3 nights. When we arrive at the location there was a sign at the entrance that said road closed so while we were sitting in the road I called the park office and the office lady gave us the directions. Then when I went up to the office the lady told me that my husband had to come into the office so she could READ the rules to us. So he did. The rules were nothing out the ordinary. It was demeaning that she insisted that my husband come inside to read them. This has never happened to us before in our 30 plus years of traveling. Then we had to sign the rule page for her records. Then she needed a copy of our dog vaccinations. Again never happened to us before!!! By this time we would have left if I hadn’t already paid the non refundable deposit!!!
The park had only a few other rigs most of them were long term residents. It is clearly ran down with thorny weeds throughout and dead grass.

This park should not be a Jellystone Park. We travel fulltime all over the country and have visited many Jellystone parks. These RV parks tend to cost more than other places we stay, but usually the cost is justified by the fun amenities and activities that our family enjoys. This park is just a regular, no-frills RV park that is not at all like other Jellystone Parks we have been to. The worst part was they didn’t even have a pool open until 6/24 while most parks around the country have a pool open between Memorial Day and Labor Day at a minimum. The week we were there the temperatures were in the upper 90s (as high as 98 one day) yet no pool to cool off in. Most Jellystone Parks we go to have a huge list of fun activities for the kids starting Friday evening through Sunday. We usually never want to leave the park, but this particular Jellystone did not have many activities at all, and we ended up venturing out to find other things to do and other places to swim. And since we travel full-time and typically stay at state parks where we are not usually able to receive packages, we always look forward to catching up on our mail and deliveries when we stay at an RV park because they typically allow you to have packages delivered. Not this one! What a disappointment to find out I could not get caught up on deliveries while staying there, especially considering the price we were paying to stay at this “no frills” park. We were there with a rally of other traveling families, and one of the families helped the manager get the laser tag guns working. We thought that since they did not have a pool or anything else for us to do, maybe they would at least get laser tag working. Then we find out they are going to charge extra money to play that. Seriously? The park is already overpriced for what you get, the pool wasn’t open despite the hot temps, and now you’re going to charge extra for laser tag? No thank you! Like I said before, we’ve been to many Jellystone Parks, and several had laser tag, bounce pads, waterslides, splash pads, etc. and they didn’t even charge extra for those amenities. It was all included in the price we paid to stay there. Well for some reason this Jellystone Park doesn’t see the need to provide any amenities and if they do, they want you to pay extra for it. If you are looking for a park with lots of fun things for your kids to do, look somewhere else.
