Stayed here since several of the other dispersed sites near Granby were closed due to fire damage. We just pull into the first spot at the signs and didn’t go any further as we only planned to stay a couple of nights. There was quite a bit of traffic during the day, but at night it was quiet. There was a moose in the area and the sound of the creek was relaxing. There is a dirt road here and it did look like it gets narrow the further you go.
Jen would stay here again

The area is easy to get to and has a nicely maintained dirt road up to the sites. Every site is literally a pull off spot along the dirt road so there is barely any privacy. The area is heavily travelled on the weekends with fellow campers, hikers, and people headed to the reservoir. If you are a tent camper, you can hike a bit further into the trees for some decent clear areas that are off the road. We were able to pull our 30 ft trailer all the way up most of the way to the reservoir but stopped at the snowmobile parking lot to ensure we could turn around to get back down. We ended up finding a spot to stay for 2 nights, but were met by a nice man who said a lot of the area is private and camping is not allowed since it owned by the ranch. So Beware if you camp where you are at since there are no signs. If you try to find a paid spot by the reservoir, be ready for a VERY BUMPY ride. The dirt road around the reservoir is potholed and awful to drive. Area worked for us since we didn't know where else to go and did not want to pay for a site, but is not something we would go back to especially with a large trailer.

Meadow Creek Reservoir is part of the Arapahoe National Recreation Area and on the edge of the Indian Peaks Wilderness. This is a fee area and a kiosk (at the GPS coordinates) is provided on the road in to pay. In addition to the fee, overnight access to the Indian Peaks Wilderness requires a permit obtained from the Granby Forest service office (see pictures for details).
Meadow Creek Reservoir is accessed via FR129 and is a popular fishing spot. Prior to ascending from the valley, FR129 is a two lane dirt road in very good repair. As one ascends, the road varies in width and does include several switchbacks. It was noted that some approximately 30ft travel trailers were parked near the Reservoir, but scouting is recommended to assess the switchbacks. The entrance of FR129 contains a parking lot that one could park a trailer for scouting.
There is little shade over the dispersed sites as the area has seen beetle kill. It also has active logging and therefore one may meet large tucks. As you approach the Reservoir the road becomes washboard with some pot holes. Low clearance vehicles can drive to the Reservoir, but higher clearances are required beyond it.
No camping is allowed within 100 feet of the Reservoir. There are picnic tables near the water and the shoreline is clear for fishing. Not far from the dam is a small parking lot with pit toilets and garbage cans.
FR129 continues to circle the Reservoir with dispersed camping along its route. The area did not have any Verizon coverage.
There are many hiking trails in the area which lead to the summits within the Indian Peaks Wilderness. Junco lake also has a parking lot with a trailhead. The area is also popular with OHV riders and mountain bikers.
