We reserved ahead of time in hopes we had one long enough to not un-hook our trailer - success! Our site looked out at the next site towards the East - a bit close, but no one showed up either night, even though it was reserved both nights by different campers... River access from several of the sites and the day use area - some slow areas in the river perfect for our young Lab. A bit of highway noise, but not enough to bother us. Beautiful - green - lush - easy walking the dog - heavenly! Would love to stay here again!

Loved this campground. The camp host was really nice and we bought firewood for $7/bundle. Pit toilets were clean. On our way in we stopped at Sahalie Falls and also drove a short way to the Tamolitch Falls hike as well.
Here are the directions from the reservation: From Eugene, OR, take I-105 east to McKenzie Highway 126 for 55 miles. Look for signs. The campground is located on the right side of the highway.

McKenzie Bridge Campground is one of those timeless campgrounds great for a night or two. After we pulled in our site was 40 steps to the fast-running McKenzie River, an angler's delight. Vaulted toilets clean as was every campsite (20 total). Surprisingly we had sufficient connectivity using the one bar available in the park partnered with our weBoost. Come with minimal expectations and enjoy!
BEWARE!! Recreation.gov is messed up on site sizes! We booked Site 3 which states, "40 foot max" only to find out it was a pull through for a tear drop or B van at most. Camp host, Ricardo shook his head then brought us over to Site 15, THE BEST site in the park which easily fit our 50+ feet Airstream/truck, no unhitching required. Site 15 on Recreation.gov states 'Max 20 ft'.

We were pleasantly surprised to find McKenzie Bridge, a small 20 site US Forest Service campground right on the bank of the McKenzie River, with a couple of sites large enough for our beast of a motorhome. Granted we needed multiple tries to get positioned just right, as pad was not level...but long enough to fit our rig and toad.
As this was a US Forest Service Campground, the nightly fee of $20.00 was reduced 50% with our Golden Age National Park Pass. However, we had to pay an additional $8.00 per night for our car that we towed in. We did advise the host that normally in all National and State Parks, if you tow your car in there is no additional vehicle charge. We then went to the McKenzie River Ranger District up to inquire about their policy and they supported the charge. We did advise them that this was the first time in the last 20 years we have ever been charged for a towed in car in a National Forest Campground, but this was their policy.
The McKenzie river is beautiful and offers an abundance of swimming, rafting, bird watching and fishing opportunities. Our site was huge and very private as trees separated our site quite well from the adjoining sites. We could walk but twenty yards to have our feet in the flowing water.
Walking through the campground we noticed that all campsites are nicely spaced and many have river access. Each site has a picnic table and fire pit. The hosts do sell firewood. All pads are gravel. Two vault toilets are within the campground as well as two drinking water pump stations. Trash bins are close to all sites. There is also a boat ramp on site to launch your kayaks or rafts. The campground and it's toilet vaults were very clean and maintained often during the day. We will definitely return.
