This was our first time staying at McGee Creek SP in the summer (we have stayed at Potapo Landing, which is a different campground in the same state park) years ago in the fall and don't remember it being quite so nuts). Our site, Buster 7, had a beautiful lake view, but also seemed to serve as a public access point for the water so there were lots of people hanging out at the site and lots of boats and jet skis parked there. There were TONS of cars and boat trailers parked in the roads at the campground, and we had to track boat owners down to get them to move so that we could back in to our site when we arrived on a Friday. By the time Saturday morning rolled around, there were so many boats parked in the street that I don't know that it would have been possible to get a trailer in, so be sure to arrive on a weekday. We never saw a camp host nor any state park employees, so I'm guessing parking regulations just aren't enforced. The sites are pretty close together.
On the plus side, there are lots of trees in the area, and the lake and shoreline were really clean. There is a dump station and a shower hose in the campground.
It is a lovely area and we would stay again, but probably not during the busy season.

Pros:
1. Nice level site, utilities worked well
2. Great view of the lake
3. Nice fishing dock and plenty of places to walk down to fish
4. Rules & quiet hours are enforced
Cons:
1. Sites are rather close together, if you want privacy this may not be for you. Lots of people with boats who need to learn how to park, and a lot of people crammed on one site in some places.
2. Roads around the actual park are in bad condition, we about lost the oil pan on our tow car.
We had little to no signal, even with WeBoost and 8 ft antenna on AT&T.

We just stumbled on this park late in the evening when we needed a place to stop. The ranger was friendly and helpful and led us to the campground to pick a site. The park is beautiful with a lovely lake and the facilities were very good, though there was no soap or even a dispenser in the restrooms. The showers are separate from the restrooms, each in their own room with a locking door. Unfortunately the water runs all over, flooded the floor, and even ran out under the door. The site we picked was level and easy to access. We would happily stay again, but the park deserved a longer visit.

Nice dispersed sites right on the lake. Trash was the biggest issue.
