Located just 5 miles north of Fountain Hills, AZ; this park has a lot of amenities to offer along with the spacious and clean campgrounds. We were lucky enough to reserve (online) the last spot about a month prior to our visit. Given this is our first year owning an RV, we've quickly realized it's hard to reserve a campsite around the Phoenix/Tucson areas; Arizona winters are just too perfect. So, make your reservations well in advanced if you're visiting for the Winter ... you'll find plenty of spots in the Summer. :)
Our camp spot, Site #58, had excellent views of the McDowell Mtns, bathrooms just across the way, and trailheads quickly accessible. If you're into mountain biking, you'll love this park. There's a competitive track, also easy trails for novice riders. If you're travelling with pets, do keep them on a tight leash as there are plenty of coyotes roaming (especially around sunset) and one was brave enough to lunge at me while I got out of my seat ... he was hiding in the bushes, but was quickly scared off. But if we had out dogs out, he could have easily grabbed/attacked one. Just be aware.
We would definitely stay here again and will be sure to reserve ahead of time for next season. Also, it was nice to head into Fountain Hills to take in the main attraction.

Views of the mountains are incredible and we enjoyed being surrounded by the saguaros. The volunteers at the entrance who checked us in were really funny and friendly. Bathrooms were clean and convenient, though tent campers have to drive to a trailhead area to shower. We enjoyed camping here and would definitely come back.

Stayed here 4 days and 3 nights. Had to move 3 times due to booking so late in the season. Pros: Site sizes, the view, clean facilities, great hiking, super quiet, nice area for grilling and relaxing outside. Not so Pros: Due to me having to move almost every morning you have to be out of your spot by 12 and can’t move to your next spot till 1 which it seems like a lot of people were in this boat. So you park in overflow parking for a little. This time of year crowd is mainly snowbirds that keep to themselves. Very strict on check in and out times and all rules. 15 minute drive from campground to closest food area. Best spot was 53 because of its seclusion and best cell service was here.

If I ever am campground host, I want it to be here. Friendly staff, cleanest bathrooms ever, enormous space between sites, accessible to any person or rig, great trails and beauty. The best.

Campsites are very widely spaced and immaculate. The gravel is artfully raked between visitors.
We stayed in the RV section, and tent area, both were very nice.
Good variety of mountain bike and hiking trails too.

We had the best time at this park. Being from Oklahoma I expected the desert to be hot, sandy and brown. I was pleasantly surprised by how green it was. We were there for an ultra running event so the park was completely full, but there was so much space between the sites we did not feel crowded at all. My only disappointment was I did not see any wildlife, only birds. Site had electric and water. The park has one dump station. The extra water faucet at the dump station was broken so we had trouble shutting it off, a park employee stopped by and said they had the part to fix, but didn’t want to shit the water off since everyone was departing. I’m sure we will return again.
I did not use the restrooms but did look inside and they were clean and showers were free.

Plus, they've paved all the roads throughout the campground so it's smooth sailing. It's super roomy, so even huge rigs can get around this place with ease.
Camp hosts keep the sites and bathrooms super clean, and they enforce the rules in order to keep things looking good so that everyone has an awesome experience. All sites have water and electric so zero generator noise. The only sounds we heard were the coyotes in the evening and night.
We live only an hour away from here, but I'm not opposed to staycationing here whenever we have a few days to spare. Plenty of trails to hike or bike. Love it!
