We stayed ½ hour south at Sim’s Flat but checked out McBride Springs on our way up to Mt. Shasta. No water available.

As others have said, this is a small campground and good for cars, tents, vans and possibly a few sites closer to the road that would accommodate a truck camper or small class c. Very quiet and clean, close to hiking at the mountain. The one drawback is that it is close to town and there may be locals who wander through here and grab... more
As others have said, this is a small campground and good for cars, tents, vans and possibly a few sites closer to the road that would accommodate a truck camper or small class c.
Very quiet and clean, close to hiking at the mountain.
The one drawback is that it is close to town and there may be locals who wander through here and grab stuff. I came back to my campsite from doing some hiking at Shasta today and a small utility table I had sitting out was stolen.

This first come, first serve campground was perfect! The spots were nice and spaced out, it was close to town, and the bathrooms were clean. Would absolutely stay here again!

Small campground with 13 sites. Clean and quiet, not too far from town 5 miles away. Rewiewing to report no water at campground as of June, 2021 as the well has run dry.

If you're living the vanlife, car camp, or have a small teardrop, this is the place for you. Rarely have I seen such a beautiful campsite. It's old-school back-to-nature beautiful with a natural spring in the campsite. In October is was cold at night, but still amazing.
